You can get used to anything. Miss Stein never owned a wristwatch in her entire life. She was quite adamant for years that she had no use whatsoever for a watch. The sun and the seasons were the only clocks she would ever need. But when the Germans announced they would shoot anyone out of their houses after 6pm, Miss Stein promptly bought a watch. It was a Swiss sport watch that could be worn by either a man or a woman, which was perfect because Miss Stein was both. She became delighted with her new watch, because it looked handsome and kept reasonably accurate time and most importantly because it prevented her from being shot by the Germans.

Anyone here save their marriage by opening it up?
I saved my long term relationship by opening it up and looking at Polyamory. So far, 5 months in, life is better than before.
To be clear, we didn't do it to save it, we came upon these ideas, struggled with them, and it happened to be what we both needed.

This guy's approach didn't seem to work out too well the second time around. Lessons to be learned?

Well, there's porn and then there is life.
My situation is more life, with a little porn. We each can see other people, whether it's at the bar or an actual relationship. The tough part is juggling time, the fun part is getting groovy and getting out with my other partners.
I feel a lot of happiness when she is with her boyfriend. No two people are the same, and I don't believe either of us are trying to replace each other. There are just so many great people, beautiful babes, different styles of sex and kinks.
But this is certainly not for the weary to jump into. Took some legitimate work on being confident, compassionate, and willing to work through jealousy.
Yeehaw!
Also, if you check out the book Sex at Dawn, the authors go into how monogamy is a social development in the religious/modern age and is not the only way, nor the oldest way, of things. It is also not common among other species.

Is this thing still on?
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

plain & simple advice here... be wary of banging her. More than one of my friends found themselves in your situation and when the wife figured out the plan managed to get themselves pregnant. Both guys are in a shitful situation.
and yes hide some money. It sounds bad but at some point you are going to be supporting her and the kids and that extra cash is going to be desperately needed.

Have not followed this whole thing but even if i had there's no way I (or anyone here) could have a complete picture. Anyway, over the years Ive realized that most marriages have some serious high and low points. The real question is whether both parties are willing to work on it and stick it out. Plenty of times the answer is no, and that's fine, even if painful. <oldmanrivervoice>
