Dangerous as hell, but that's what made it so fun-controlling all the rides yourself.
Jackass-meets-Disneyland--that is a great analogy.

My wife worked there as a lifeguard in the summer when she was in HS/college years....lots of saves....lol. Not only were water rides kinda unsafe....but the clientele couldn’t swim......

I guess there are a lot of VTers in the EC Rollcall, so I’ll forgive you for just discovering Class Action Park now?
Place was a right of passage for those in nearby NY/NJ, where you were lucky to just come away with a colonic and a separated shoulder!

Apologies for continuing the OT.
I went to Action Park with some buddies right when it opened back up (already 7 years ago! SHIT!!). I had never been but had seen all the commercials growing up. Don't do water parks or any sort of amusement shit, it was a novelty because it had just opened. The price was similar to a day of skiing, maybe 60$? Wasn't expecting much but ended up having a really memorable day. It still comes up from time to time with those guys and I think that's kind of cool. One of them made this vid, even being the guy with the GoPro doesn't bother me when there's a sweet edit to look back on. We finished the day catching the sunset at an 'alpine' lake somewhere nearby in the jersey highlands. Tequila in the AM, crazy rides, good times.

East Coast Roll Call #??? 20-21 Covid closures and hard core touring! Be Fit or Sit
Fuck New Jersey, fuck it right in its pussy.
Anyhoo, this little non-event of a storm is overproducing. 4” in the driveway and the Stratton cams have been showing decent snow all day. SoVT is in the honey hole this year.Last edited by buttahflake; 02-19-2021 at 01:34 PM.

clean sex with a dirty state aside:
last night i clicked on the vid and watched a much longer edit than the under 2min trailer i'm able to watch now.
anyone else access the longer version.
(it included footage of folks going off the alpine slide. ouch! but an undeniably gut-splitting watch)

why do you call it a nazi card though Joey?
i don't feel like a nazi imagining i might return to my favorite mountains before this one's over for the first time in a year - and after the past 2months of mostly making do (not talking about plattekill - my favorite NE area not in VT)Last edited by buckethead; 02-20-2021 at 12:48 AM.

I’m gonna venture out here and just let you know there are A LOT of Vermonters that will not get the vaccine, myself included. Soooo it seems that I will not be getting the all magical card. Doesn’t sound like the land of the free and home of the brave. Sounds like some oppressive bullshit.
Needless to say no cards or Gold Stars for lots of Vermonters. Oh well.

The kamikaze slide was a great place to hang out. You slid down and hit the pool hard and wiped out. Girls would go down and lose parts of their suit. They had cliffs you could jump off that were pretty high, high enough that if you didn't hit the water clean you would get hurt. Yet they would allow anyone to go off, some people diving. I think the problem was that people thought they were safe because Great Adventure and other parks all had rides where you couldn't really get hurt. If it wasn't for the long lines on the weekend I would have gone a lot more.

yea, obviously this would be more universally good news had the whole vaccine rollout allowed all who DO want the vaccine to get it quickly and easily.
for skiers on the NE, this is a positive development and hopefully portends a more widespread opening up of life and safe travel.
and while these state guidelines are an unpleasant, if necessary aspect of limiting spread i'd think most skiers living in VT are already, for the most part, where they want to be / ski.
if these loosening of travel restrictions are successful and numbers continue to go down i would think there would indeed be more gradually increased freedom of movement, not less.
right now there is not so much.
heh! i guess my return to VV/GG is gonna have to wait.
the coves did get me back to hunter for the first time in 38 years, so i've already checked that box.

I kid, I kid. Nothing but love for the Garden State. I’m getting vaccinated first week of April, looking forward to it.

^ buttah : i for one didn't take it as hate. you were gonna fuck
the state in the pussy. that after all is an act of love (assuming consent, of course) and congrats on getting an appt. i know they're tough to get in NYS.
^^Aldo: then you'll love my idea for a new unconventional terrain park built around fracking wells and burn plumes
i'm meeting with mt creek brass next week to present my proposal.
it'll combine the adventure/danger aspects of the old action park with the new business models involving out of the box, mixed-use of ski areas.
it's about emphasizing INDUSTRY in the ski industry

I love the dirty Jerz. I am not from there, but I've spent an oddly enormous amount of time there over the years. Shore and NW Jerz rock my world, and any day spent bar hopping on pontoon boats on Lake Hopakong (sp?) is a g-d damn day VERY well spent.
I know NOONE who was born in NJ before '90 who doesn't have a scar of some kind from Action Park.

No, NH is fucked because sunukenu is a cunt. LA county and practically all of CA has fewer rates per capita then my county and the teachers aren't in the first rounds to be vaccinated yet he executive orders them to open 3/8. Fuck him. So technically a ski shop employee gets the shot before teachers...makes a fuckload of sense. Old man sunukenu stole from us while in Washington under Bush Sr and this fucktard state votes his idiot son in.
