A friend just bought an F350 with the 8 foot box because they plan to pull a 5th wheel camper, someday. In the mean time they installed the same rack shown in the picture above. That really grinds my gears. It just looks so wrong when a legitimate truck gets GOTOS stuff installed.

There ought to be a law restricting GOTOS accessories to trucks with bed lengths less than 6 feet. Most people are already in compliance.

Proceed if you would like a real life personal tale of yet another reason why these people fucking suck. Specifically, this post is about Decked, a company who makes a bunch of this car camping bullshit. The whole sleazy story is pretty long, so I'll give you the Cliff's notes.

For some context, and possible self-immolation, I have a mildly successful YouTube channel, brand, and the social media accounts that go along with that. It's all fly fishing centric. I also sell merch. I sell exactly 2 stickers on my website. One says "I'm a huge fly fisherman" and the other says "I suck at fly fishing."

This past summer, someone sent me an Instagram post from Decked that was promoting their new stickers that said "I'm a huge overlander" and "I suck at overlanding." Fucking lame, right? Typical stupid IG drama ensued, and the the marketing director from Decked contacted me. He claimed he saw one of my I Suck stickers around town, liked it, and then "riffed on it." He said that neither he nor anyone on his team had ever heard of me or my brand or website or whatever (sticker is clearly branded).

I can understand ripping off one sticker, but claiming to have no knowledge of the other one and also copying it is utter bullshit. Also, this lazy motherfucker didn't even change the design. The stickers look exactly like mine. This is coming from the head of marketing at a "big" company. So fucking weak and low effort.

We had a back and forth. I was less than professional. He then asked if I wanted to work together on some collaboration. Yeah, no thanks. Still sticks to his claim that he had no idea about anything. Fucking liar.

Anyway, my point is fuck Decked, and fuck that guy in particular.







For the record, I have a rocket box and douche tubes on my 4Runner, and a license plate for the other thread. I do live on a dirt road, though.
