Walk-off Grand Slam in the 10th by Franchy Cordero, his first major league HR, completes a sweep of Seattle as the Sox win their 5th straight.

Missed the game this afternoon, just watched the condensed rebroadcast, that was pretty fun.

Tim Anderson might be one of my new favorite players after all of this. Typically classy Yankee fans continue to call him Jackie all night, so he hits a three run HR and tells them to “shut the fuck up.”
    Love it.

It would be incredible if Pujols went on a tear to finish with 700. It's so unlikely - but he "only" needs 17 more. Getting into that club cement him as one of the greatest sluggers of all time and erase a bit of his suckitude the last few years. He was so good when he made the bigs, and it was also so long ago, but it's nice to be reminded.

It was a hard weekend as a Yankee fan. Donaldson is a jerk, but is he a liar when he said they had joked about Anderson calling himself Jackie in that interview over the years? I have no idea. He seemed very apologetic about the whole thing in the post game, and quite sincere too. Maybe as sincere in deescalating as Anderson was mad in his interview. I have no idea what to think except it is a stupid thing to joke about and joking around with people that don't like or vice-versa is sure to end poorly. La Russa sure didn't want to deescalate anything, yikes.

Chapman, I can't wait for him to begone. If they had stones they'd cut him or if Boone had any brains he'd use any of his better pitchers (which is most of them) in a tie game. I think I'm scarred from how many times I've had to see Chapman do the walk of shame. Which would be great if I was a fan of any other team, because he's a shithead and impossible to cheer for. Fuck Chapman and fuck Cashman for signing him to 20 years.

Giants Fans suck, this weeks edition:

While getting swept by the Padres, they decided to start throwing beer bottles at outfielders.

THEN with the mighty Mets in town they upped their inopportune heckling game:
    With Jeff McNeil up:
“Hey McNeil, work out those legs, you’ve got no power, no power McNeil,” the fan could be heard screaming during the broadcast.

McNeil promptly blasted a 408 Feet Over The Fence two-run homer to right as the Mets started piling on for a 13-3 victory

Stay Classy Gnats fans, stay classy

Over in Anaheim heads are finally starting to roll for the fraud of saying the Angels are based in LA
Mayor resigns, Jeff Flint of FSB Public Affairs, which represented Angels owner Arte Moreno and the Anaheim-based Disneyland Resort, took leave from his position as the chief executive and senior partner at the firm last week, and Dem State Party Secretary Melahat Rafiei also resigned. C'mon folks, just stick with CA Angels, or OC Angels. You aren't LA.

& the Dodgers? they just kept rolling behind 8 Scoreless from their most recent 32 y/o reclamation project.

1/4 way mark offensive leaders. Some areas jumped out at me.

Does Judge keep up the .425 HR/game clip? That puts him at almost 69 for the season.

José's strikeouts are so much lower than the other big hitters. Walks are up there too. What will win out in the end, plate discipline or human windmill?

The league should have him play randomly for one of the 17 (16?) franchises he hasn’t played for one random day each week for the rest of the season. A “where’s Bartolo” contest. Maybe throw in a few minors appearances

The problem with Big Sexy is that he's too easy to spot.

Got me thinking, the Tribe traded him twenty fucking years ago. Twenty years!

That trade kicked off a decades-long string of Indians front office magic in where they acquire young pitching, develop it into Cy Young caliber pitching, trade for more young talent, succeed, rinse, repeat.

It's pretty incredible actually how consistent they are at it.

I was totally second guessing myself cause I didn’t think he was still in the league, but a quick Google showed he is working out with the Mets to potentially come back. I’d know that belly and weird athleticism anywhere.
