every time I think my kid is absolutely ripping on skis, I see stuff from mags like detrusor or montanaskier and realize my kid isn't in the same league. But she is still a much better skier than I was at her age!

Thanks to the mags who recommended Sunlight for my 4 year old. We spent a day there getting used to an actual mountain setting and made some huge progress. Skied the next two days at Buttermilk and Snowmass. Hula Hoop/harness free, taking on greens and short sections of blues on his own. Still in low-gear snowplow mode, but he loved it. As we were leaving Snowmass, he asked, "Dad, why dont we live here?"
It's been a lot of work, and still is, to get to this point. Up next is solo-baby terrain park and some ski school sessions.

One of these days we’ll have to have a Wasatch summit for all these mini mags.
The 8 year old’s getting after it this year.

Great new years week at Jackson, Monarch and Silverton with my son and some of his ski friends...
The kids range from 11-13 years old.

4 yr old is back in ski school this past weekend and was stoked. Went back out on the hill with Mom the following day for an hour; wanted to keep doing laps until she got cold. Hope to keep fueling the stoke!

Haven’t posted much lately but man has it been a ripping winter so far. Little man is straight killing it. So many jumps, so many tricks, and still crushing the race league. Took him down the Mile for his first backcountry day a week or so ago and he did great. Nothing makes me happier than ripping around with this dude and watching him LOVE to ski. So many cool kids doing great things here in this thread.

That's pretty rad for anyone, let alone an 11 year old. Nice work.
In other kid stoke, my 10 year old beat me by a second (17 vs 18) in a training course this past weekend. I kept mumbling my skis have an 18 m radius but he didn't care.

I was trying to deceive him but in the end I guess I only deceived myself.

Gave our 10 yo Granddaughter a new pair of Moment Zephyr's for Christmas. I was able to snag the last two pair Moment had last year. My diminutive wife uses one pair and our Granddaughter got her first chance to use them this past week. She is a racer but I wondered how she would handle a ski that is 101mm underfoot. A picture is worth a 1000 words.

That's an aggressive line in the first pic. Awesome.
Interesting that the U10's and 12's wear speed suits. Up here that starts at U14. Granted, it's probably a lot colder up here in Eastern Ontario/Western Quebec.

Thanks. Conditions were really challenging with heavy rain the night before since the rain snow line was just a few miles NW of the hill. The kids weren't really able to keep things locked in so it washed out some of the less versatile groms.
The speedsuits are completely optional in WIJARA but for whatever reason almost all the kids have them. Mostly to keep the stoke meter pegged I think.
