I'd imagine this has been said before, but Rectify looks to be really good so far. We just finished season 1.

    Hmmm...

FWIW, I have not read the comic book upon which this film is based, but noticed that the author, Greg Rucka (much of whose earlier work I have read and enjoyed) also penned the screenplay...that said, it looks like a lot of other action films I have seen.
Plus it seems to be signalling a trend with NF where they get A-listers starring in big budget blow em up fare (i.e. Hemsworth in Extraction and Reynolds in 6 Underground and Ben Affleck in Triple Frontier, etc.)

Anyone been watching "White Lines"? Beautiful people in a beautiful place - set in contemporary Ibiza - with some boobs and drugs. Sorry if it's a redundant mention.

Yeah, it's pretty good so far. We're just about half way through.

Watched "Last Crime in America" last night. Meh. Some over the top acting, and I felt like they could have done a lot more with the whole scenario of people not being able to commit crimes.

It's managed to maintain a 0% rating on rotten tomatoes, which is impressive in and of itself.

We've now binged into season 3.

If you have a kid, this is a fantastic show to watch as a family.

The movie is supposedly one of the worst movies every made, we're looking forward to checking it out and laughing when we're done with the show.

Great show. I watched it as a 30 year old mental juvenile & loved it. Got excited to watch it with my kids when they got old enough. We have now binged it twice in the last year. Made it a Saturday morning cartoon thing since those don’t exist anymore.

The movie is fucking terrible. It sucks to watch them butcher such a good show.

The original creators are making live action episodes right now I guess. Looking forward to that.

The follow up show “Legend of Korra” doesn’t come close to the last airbender, still not bad though. Aims more for the teenage crowd I think. Gonna try that with the kids next.

Ang Lee’s Lust-Caution. Seductive and erotic. Like most Chinese movies there isn’t much joy here.

Just watched 365 Days. Think Basic Instinct + Fifty Shades of Grey. If your in the mood for a soft to medium core porn, check it out. Reminded me of my youth staying up to watch Cinemax after dark or Spectrum.

Da5Bloods was a good watch. I tend to like Spike Lee’s stuff for the most part though a much different hood. 8/10.

Da 5 Bloods came across like a typical Spike Lee movie. Some powerful points were made. And some nice little tidbits in there upped the entertainment value.

But (like other Spike Lee joints) it frequently felt forced, the score was distracting, and some of the scenes and dialogue just kinda felt slapped together. The movie felt choppy and uneven, and that detracted from the overall message. It was also fairly long - the whole movie would have been well served by some more time in the editing room.

I'm torn on how they used the same (old) actors in the scenes where those characters were young. I think I liked it better than the CGI de-aging they used in the Irishman. But I liked it less than just using younger actors in those scenes. Speaking of CGI, they definitely didn't spend much money on it. It's fairly bad, although ultimately that probably doesn't really matter.

Made it about 30 minutes into Da 5 Bloods. Seemed like garbage to me.

Maybe I’ll go back and finish it or maybe not.

Watching Uncut Gems must be what it feels like to overdose on meth.....frantic and anxiety riddled.

I thought it got better about 1/3 of the way in. I'm not sure I would say it got good though.

Help me out here. Need a good series on Netflix or Prime that would be comparable to Designated Survivor, House is Cards type show.

Started Madam Secretary and it isn’t doing it for us.

Yeah, I agree with everything you said. I couldn't really get into it. I feel like Spike Lee movie always leave me wondering what's so great about them.

    Spoiler alert...

About a third of the way through miniplug and I started predicting everything that happened in the movie. We were pretty happy that the Adam Sandler character got it in the head at the end (which of course we predicted). I get what all the hype was about, it just wasn’t that enjoyable to watch.

    Highly recommended:

Talented Broadway producers, musicians, and actors made musicals for industrial conventions and sales meetings. All this was discovered by David letterman‘s head writer.

    Magnetic.

A good mix of extreme sports in all its 4K beauty. Surfing. Kite surfing. Sick back country skiing. Helicopter assisted paragliding. Stand up paddle hydrofoil surfing.

    Well with the watch.
