Why you should own a Stockli Stormrider
Yup. Stockli was never very good at the under appreciated art of coming up with a rememberable ski model name.

I found a line on a 3 pairs DP pros in 184, 193, and 201. Seller wants to sell all three as a package.
Anyone interested in splitting? PM me and we can figure out logistics.

Sizing
Hello! Long time lurker.
Curious how everyone sizes the current Stormrider 105? The size gap between the 179 and 188 is causing me some indecision. For comparison I have a Kastle BMX 105 HP in 181. I could go longer with it but definitely wouldn't want to go shorter. This is making me think 188 S/R 105. The 22.5 radius of the 188 is a good number for me most of the time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! 5'11; 175 lb without pack/gear; former D1 alpiner; still like to haul.
Cheers

Bump for help with detuning edges on Stormriders
I’m looking at a pair of 105s - demos from the 2019-20 season. Riding them tomorrow in 4” PNW chunder.
While fondling them tonight I find the edges are sharp to within ~2” from the tips and tails.
Is that right? Should they be detuned further back than that?
TIA

Yes. As mentioned you must be heavy and/or skilled to flex them and use them to their full potential. They are awesome. I am not heavy and only moderately skilled so I skied them for a day, had a great time, scared myself a little, had one spectacular tomahawk crash. I then passed them on to one of my staff who is young, dumb and full of cum as they say. He loves them and they now have a worthy home.

That was my thought as well.
However after three hours banging around in 5” of low elevation crud on top of a damp crust,
These things fuckin’ rule tuned like they are. They crushed the crud and bit that firm base, and when the crust softened a little, just railed that shit.
These will be mine...

Who knows their vintage Stöcklis? I have two pairs of very old, very over-drilled, very thin edged 186 Stöcklis. A more rational person would retire these. I hardly remember anything much less how two similar skis I haven't used in years differ. The tails on the Perret Stormriders taper in a bit so the effective edge is longer on the Asteroids. Same 121-91-108, flex feels similar. Going to put some bindings on one pair, just have to figure out which. Any old timers or vintage 21st c ski enthusiasts recall anything about these planks?? Thanks

No luck getting rid of them on ebay, eh? Same core, lengths, dimensions, etc. If you see more tail taper that's the first I've heard of it, I was told the Asteroid and DP were del mismo. The '04 SS pro that pfluff was selling is the same buildup, but 123/91/111.
