Not sure what is ON the mules head, but there are two items hanging from it.

    This is not that obscure.

    Too easy.

    Try this:

    With no direction home
    Like a complete unknown
    Gimme five, I'm still alive!
Ain't no luck, I learned to duck!

Or if that's too hard, try this:

    Come mothers and fathers
    Throughout the land
    And don't criticize
    What you can't understand
    Your sons and your daughters
    Are beyond your command
    Your old road is
    Rapidly agin'.
    Gimme five, I'm still alive!
Ain't no luck, I learned to duck!

    nice.

    How 'bout:
Hey I've been having the same dreams
But mine was a little different you see
I dreamt the only person left after the war was me.
    I didn't see you around.

I bet no one gets this one:

Oh, where have you been, my blue-eyed son?
Oh, where have you been, my darling young one?
I've stumbled on the side of twelve misty mountains
I've walked and I've crawled on six crooked highways
I've stepped in the middle of seven sad forests
I've been out in front of a dozen dead oceans
I've been ten thousand miles in the mouth of a graveyard
    Gimme five, I'm still alive!
Ain't no luck, I learned to duck!

One of my favorite albums for sure. Listened to that so many, many times...

Edit: coincidentally, the quote I posted below about after the war is the same album, if that hint helps...

I think those have crossed the line from semi obscure to fully obscure. I did have to google.

Here’s an easier one. What is your destination after you pick up your money and pack up your tent?

I agree. I didn't know the last one. This one is great - and I messed up! Thought it was Highway 61, but I should have known that wasn't it. Love this song - should have known. Hell, I've played it.

    Someone get it...
