I'll definitely ski with anyone here.. and I never even think about politics or social issues when skiing much less talk about shit that bums everyone out like that.

Skied high for 20 years.. Skied 100% sober for another 20 years.. Hard pass on the shrooms but skiing is a hell ya..

Not sure why he'd even need to go to assess anything. Just cut the check to those poor people.

Never even lost satellite reception in Durham. Eastern Raleigh had a few issues. I'll be in Nag's Head tomorrow. Guessing there will be a few more issues there..

That’s a first, but no thanks needed! Yes insurance related. We’ll be the first second-responders in.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Sunset this evening may be incredible IF the front coming in from the west delays a bit.

I know. Science can be tough.

    Maybe start there.

Yes, hurricanes are steered or not steered by other systems. They typically are fueled by warm water and weakened by shear. Very rarely they will tap into cold storm energy, suck on it like a tear, and become enhanced extra tropical systems. Sandy did this (as well as the Halloween storm of ‘91(?)) and blew up just as it was headed into the armpit. So, yeah, anomaly type shit. Kind of like when a storm retrogrades.

Glad to hear both NY and Raleigh are going to make it through this one. Actually, the US coast fared pretty damn well all considered. Bahamas, not so much.

Holy crap. That guy CNN had in the Bahamas through the storm is still there, and was standing outside this building that was still standing, but was really fucked up. Concrete exterior, with a Land Rover sticking out a hole on one side. But, the most amazing thing was that, the owner, who was a builder, parked a 20 ton truck in front of the garage to protect it, but now the truck is gone. They can't find it.
