Here is this week's blog update. A quick version, we are down to 2 ski areas (MSS and K).
What a difference one trip out West makes. From many ski options in the East when I left on April 21 to only 2 remaining in the East with no lifts spinning until the weekend. Alberta is offering skiing at 3 ski areas, but the lifts are spinning daily with overall 85% of the runs open at these resorts (From 63% at Marmot Basin to 98% at Sunshine). Like in the East, many of the skiing public aren't showing up in the late season, regardless of the amount of snow left. Marmot Basin and Lake Louise will be closing this coming Sunday with an incredible amount of snow left. The situation in Eastern Quebec is similar, we saw Gaspe's Mont Miller closed last weekend and Mont Comi deciding today not to reopen this weekend.

Nice work MadPat!
The MW Auto Road is progressing:
Although the Mt Washington Auto Road has opened to treeline for the season, due to predicted rain and snow this week, we will remain closed until Saturday.
We hope to reopen for passenger vehicles and motorcycles to treeline 4.5 miles up and at 4,200 feet elevation on Saturday, May 6. We will open all the way to the summit as soon as possible - we're still working on ice and snow on the upper half of the mountain. The sad truth is that whine does not age well

East Coast Roll Call 10 [ten] SKI or SKI NOT, There Is No Try
Another great day on Vermont's, World Cup slope. It's still so fat! I really enjoy skiing with gonnif and bucket. Killington parties so hard in May. 20,000 vert, legs are toast. Second Fiddle tastes so good right now. Homemade pizza and wine, next. Seven months of lift served.
I think we might get eight, this year.
So Fat
Gonnif heading over Preston's Pitch.

^^^You did it right today (as always). I hiked in the rain. Ate Worthy Burger though, so it was a wash. Cheers mates!
Edit: are those Jams and gaiters?! Style for miles.

Good times ^^^ I had to work to accommodate a request to finish a project earlier than scheduled. Would have loved to get out of the Valley murk that lasted until 4 or so.
Next weekend.www.apriliaforum.com

Another great day. Best skiing was from 4-5 and Buttah and I did not waste any time racking up the laps.
We tailgated till 8. On the menu: bison steak, venison pie, yams cooked on the grill in maple syrup, a fruit crumb pie and many tasty IPAs.

Thanks guys, it was a great winter to be unemployed. Just wish the camera battery hadn't died on all the best days.
The last day of April. Looking good up there again with the refresh. I heard Stowe ended up with a few inches too.
VTF, maybe go for a Rumble run and finish the season the way it started? Just looking back through the thread, snow October to May with only a few thaws, some epic storms, and maybe best of all, benny left!

Good stuff BMX. I can confirm from pictures and a first hand report this morning (ideally to be confirmed personally tomorrow morning) that Stowe got 6" or so up top and requires little, if any walking from the lot depending on your route. Oh, and Hallelujah on the exit of the bunnyboy!

^^^
Need to get that passport renewed or should I just wait until it expires at the end of May?
For lift served option, we are down to the same old two...for a 5th year in a row. MSS and Kmart open this weekend.

Haha, That would have been nice but I don't have skis that are rock enough.
Alas Sol shut that option down by last evening.
And when that wind rolls up, while hardly making a sound road turns from solid to rocky ground mountain high and river wide may lie between here and there...
I may not know where i'm going..
but I'll keep rolling on and on..
