I used to walk or ride by that thing daily. After a while, I stopped doing double takes, but it never got to the point where it looked 'normal'

Pretty good (i.e., bad) example from my neighborhood. Kind of sad that everyone involved apparently thought this was a good idea.

That is so wrong in so many ways.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

I'm picturing the meeting with the architect going down like this:

Kinda hard to squeeze a multi bed single family home with an adu onto a postage stamp and not have it look like shit.

Yup, I have to live in the home of over built lots (city allows a 75% FAR). Every lot is built to the absolute limit. Some look ok if the lot is 5k+ but the smaller lots often look like shit.

Yeah, lifting the whole house would've been better, and they would've gained more sq ft.

Lots of lots don't look like much, you're saying?

I was in two houses yesterday, both recent remodels, both had bathtubs in the living rooms. Is that a new thing? One of the places also had two bedrooms with tubs in the bedrooms, and yes, they also had an attached bathroom.
