The contractor who built that death trap needs to be reported. It's a play area for kids at fucking school FFS.

I never knew dentists were so good with construction inspection!

No good deed goes unpunished....from now on the kids will have to play in the rain.

Fuck it. I’m usually an apathetic asshole but when it comes to little kids possibly being injured I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t say anything. Chances are probably slim of a collapse but codes exist for a reason. The city building code enforcement person has been notified.
Yea, I’m that parent....

i think this can be corrected without tearing it down - talk to a design professional to get the appropriate framing corrections, incl dealing with the connection to the ground
it may become apparent it's easier to reframe, but i suspect additive corrections can stiffen it up sufficiently

Toss a couple of 6 x 6's down the middle to fix the spans and snow load. Put back the missing 4x4 and you're all good.
WTF is wrong with that fence. Its like your shooting with a double fisheye lens.

Quoted to get the pic on the second page.
I've seen plenty worse that have remained standing. Sagging beams don't inspire confidence, but it doesn't necessarily mean failure.
At a guess, I'm thinking this structure is about 16'x25'? Is the grass natural turf or artificial? It looks too good to be natural turf in a playground environment. If it's artificial, I'd assume the posts are strapped and redheaded into the concrete underlayer. How many posts are on the backside? I don't see any, but the frontmost post may be blocking a center post in the back. If that's a 25' span with a single 2x8... yikes. This looks more like a framer that doesn't understand that OSB serves a structural purpose and just stood up some framing.
And I would worry more that this school is sending your littles outside in the rain and 50 mph winds to go play than I would about this thing falling on them. It will fail in a storm eventually, but is your school actually sending kids out into that?I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Part of the reason I like this school is outdoor play is mandated daily. If there is sideways rain or hail they won’t be out but you can have a decent looking day and strong gusts whip through there all the time. It’s at about 1,000ft in the cascade foothills. If kids can’t play in the wind they’d never be outside from October to May.

This is why you have 2 kids. So if one gets taken out by a play structure failure, you still have one.
