Thats nothing. I have seen collectors pay over 1K for certain mags. Look up Finnish AK mags or a Russian border Guard green bake.

As in many things supply and demand play a part.

I have paid more than I wanted to for certain items and refused to buy other things altogether due price and availability.

Vast majority are steel combloc made surplus and can be had for $15 or less still.

In other news CT court cleared the way for manufacturers to be sued for misuse of a product.

Remington may not be long in existence.

    Good

In filings with the U.S. Supreme Court, the Sandy Hook families say Remington "published promotional materials that promised 'military-proven performance' for a 'mission-adaptable' shooter in need of the 'ultimate combat weapons system.' " They also accuse the company of fostering a "lone gunman" narrative as it promoted the Bushmaster, citing an ad that proclaimed, "Forces of opposition, bow down. You are single-handedly outnumbered."

Market you guns at school shooters and your company takes responsibility.

    How is that shitty?

So just like Columbine and thousands and thousands of other murders and suicides.. happened because parents failed to properly secure their firearms.. their teen kids get ahold of them and use them for mayhem..

Why can’t we somewhat agree to disagree with full knowledge that opinions on this subject are deeply entrenched/likely to not change? True for both sides of the debate.

The two people who in my mind could be legitimately sued are both dead. I really don't see how they have a case against Remington. The firearms were used for their intended purpose, that is to fire bullets. It is up to the purchaser to follow safety rules and applicable laws, after being deemed eligible and allowed to walk out with the guns. I believe the angle that is being persued is marketing. Even that seems weak to me because the fuckstick murderer wasn't the purchaser. Ultimately, this will be settled based on emotion and not facts.

This perspective that the gun makers can't be held responsible for what people do with them after they leave the assembly line seems reasonable maybe??. Do you take that same perspective when it comes to the makers of OxyContin?? i.e. that it's 100% of the users not following instructions and it's otherwise perfectly OK to sell heroin pills in a bottle to people as long as it comes out of a pharmacy (gun dealer) with a prescription (half ass background check)? As long as you're consistent with your stance on both it's a sound view. If you think one or the other is somehow different not so sure..

    GUNS!!!!!!!!

If we’re blaming the marketing, then The best marketing firearms manufacturers receive, and the most irresponsible, is Hollywood.

Ask a kid where he got his tactica-cool ideas and I’ll bet it wasn’t a gun ad.

Tough to call this a test case for average folks when the shooter was a documented mentally challenged teen.... and supposedly had an infatuation with first person shooter violent video games. It's more proof that those rating labels should also apply to mentally handicapped people..

Hollywood accepts ad placement in movies, it’s a fact. Even firearms manufacturers.

I am not against manufacturers of any product being held liable when it is warranted. I don't see the liability in this case. However, SCOTUS was not wrong by allowing the lawsuit to proceed.
