I thought it was just Texans in starter jackets, as far as the eye can see.

Amen. Whitefish isn't #3 at anything. Except maybe not doing summer maintenance that really needs to be done.

Came on here to say this...

Flat terrain and fog... super rad.

All you need is that one lift to get you to the backside.
It's pretty much a best kept secret.
Oh ... and it isn't expensive.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Mt Baker. It’s close to my heart because it’s where I learned to ski, but the skiing there is pretty bad most of the time unless it’s a total nuclear storm cycle and even then it’s a lot of short runs with discontinuous fall lines in to flat spots. There’s a few pockets here and there (gabls), plus the shuksan arm is rad but that’s about it.

I don't know man, I feel like that is one of the best ski areas on the planet. Of course, yes, the snow sucks a lot of days. You definitely want to pick and choose your days according to the conditions more so than most places. But when that place is going off, there's nowhere on the planet I'd rather be, and in a good year it goes off a lot. The terrain alone is better than 95% of mountains in the US. Plus it has yet to be taken over by a megacorp (knock on wood), and is one of the few places that still has reasonable lift ticket prices. As far as overrated, most people I talk to here in CO have either never heard of Baker, or think that it is in Oregon. I'd say most of the people in the country are in the same boat.

Steamboat, Vail, and Breck on the other hand, are the epitome of overrated.

I think one can claim the snow quantities at Baker are unreal.
    But terrain?
Compared to Alpental? Or Crustal or even Stevens? Or JH, Kirkwood, Squaw/AM, Mammoth, Telluride, Aspen Highands, Taos, Abasin?

OK, I guess it's a matter of taste.
