i've volunteered probably 60 shifts at my boy's kinder since february. most of the kids seem to like having me around most of the time and i frequently work one on one with the 4-5 kids who struggle and/or disrupt the most. one kid in particular is the terror of the class. constantly harassing other kids, refusing to participate, and he is smart but behind. i work with him the most. the entire situation in the classroom is bittersweet because of many reasons, including the obvious lack of appropriate funding, exhausted and overstressed staff, parents not sufficiently involved one way or another for whatever reason, legit or otherwise, in the kid and/or the school and making the already taxed teachers deal with fundamental issues that should be dealt with at home.

but besides all that, there are beautiful moments every day. yesterday after i stayed with him during most of recess so he would finish his work. he went out to play for the last few minutes and when he came back in he brought me flowers and asked me if i was still going to be at the school next year.

    Anyone used Adobe Spark?

Did a quick little page about that wake shoot I did. It's pretty cool I think.

Do you have a license for the drone? Just curious as I know they are starting to crack down on that. We have one for work but only registered employees are allowed to use it.

No. I don't. I am pretty sure I can fly it without one as long as it's non-commercial and I follow the guidelines like not flying it over people, under 400ft elevation and keeping it within line of site.

My dad's hay barn at sunset last night.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Split view of Moraine Lake near Lake Louise, Alberta. Waded into the water to get this shot. Oh how I suffer for my art.

I love that shot. That view used to be on the back of the $20 dollar bill. An Outside article from eons ago was premised on a couple buddies climbing the middle couloir and, "skiing the 20".

Thanks. I was hoping for a little more underwater definition, but I still like it.

I like the distortion, it makes the boats "hover".
