The cat that adopted me, Luna, lives with two Aussie Shepherd’s. I think she likes the quiet at our house. Also, my wife is pregnant and she seems really interested in her stomach. She likes to lie with her head against the baby.

Little update on Dan, he decided he didn’t want to be in an x-pen anymore, so he’s taken over the whole bedroom now. He’s walking pretty well, but he gets tired and has to rest a lot. His back-end strength isn’t so good still, so he doesn’t do hard floors very well. And he doesn’t understand personal space.

I used to check this thread daily because my wife wouldn't allow another cat as the last one had problems and shat all over the house until my sis took her off our hands. I would always stop in Petcos and check out the cats for adoption for my fix and then found a 6 month old kitten that was so friendly that I signed the papers and told my wife afterwards. She was not happy but is now in love with Bella.

Anywho, we got her before Christmas and she seemed lethargic and wasn't eating much about 6 weeks ago. Took her to the vet and long story short she has FIP, which i have never heard of before. It is usually fatal pretty quick, but the vet referred me to a FB group that helps people with cats with FIP. There is a drug that is not approved by the FDA, but has been successful so we have been getting the medication from this group and giving her shots for about 6 weeks now and the treatment is supposed to be 3 months. After 2 days of shots, Bella was starting to act like a kitten again, playing and much more energetic. It sucks giving her a shot every night. Sometimes she mildly objects and sometimes she cries and I feel like an asshole, but I know it is for the better. She has gone from 4.4 lbs to 7.5 lbs since we started,

We have her on special food and her farts would make any dude proud, but other than the farts and feeling bad about giving her the shots, there have not been any cons that I can see. It will probably cost a couple of grand for medication, but that is not an issue. I had not seen any mention of this on here so was wondering if anyone else was familiar with this disease. BTW, it is called feline coronavirus, but not the same as human coronavirus.

Edited to add that Ozium, which we used to hide the smell of weed back in the day, is extremely effective against the smell of these farts. Who woulda thunk

Would that be Paxlovid that you've been treating your FIP kitten with?

Jong Doe, there is a special place for people that save animals. Thanks for being a great human. And you think Bella's farts stink? Skye's poop takes the paint off the bathroom walls.

Sadly, that’s a side effect of giving Mom the job of feeding our kitty. She waaaaay over feeds GG. I’ve talked to her multiple times about how bad it is to have an obese cat, but Mom claims I’m trying to starve our cat to death. Having a cat in the house has been great for my Mom’s emotional health, as you can tell from that photo.

It’s definitely a frame-worthy photo of those two to have. That cat looks content (and sleepy!)

I don’t know about your cat but every Calico I’ve ever dealt with was cunning and mean as fuck. Same?

Yeah, she’s a smart bitch. We love it. Has us well trained.

For example— she wakes me up every morning at 5:30 to feed her. She follows me to her bowl. I fill it, slightly. Then she walks away with me back to bed.

    She doesn’t even eat.

    Bitch.

Then on weekends when I sleep in until 7, even though I’ve already fed her, she’ll meow to wake me up so she can have the bed to herself.

She’s super annoying and we love it.

Foster Cat Dan went for a field trip today through the big house.
Apparently at the shelter they don’t teach them that pit bulls are dangerous.

I get to babysit this guy in Truckee over the weekend. He’s a great kitty.
