Is the Lock Stock and Barrel still there? That would make a great bail out option if Rocket Run isn't firing

Maybe we’ve been on a Tour De Bar ride at some point?

Lock's stock and barrel was sold and just reopened last spring. Stopped in last march. Looks pretty much the same

Thes pictures represent so many old industrial towns across the state and, in particular, along the Erie Canal.

An old Catholic Church shuttered nearly two decades ago over the protests of its largely Italian American parishioners sits across a side street from the beautifully maintained former home of an early 19th century city father. Both look out at the Erie Canal and a long dormant lift bridge spanning the canal.

In the 1800s this neighborhood was the lifeblood of the city. The businesses that once flourished along the canal are now all but forgotten and the once grand homes that failed to attract professional businesses have been carved up into apartments.

"Lowertown thrived as Lockport's social, commercial and industrial center between the years 1829 and 1850..."

This seems to be the story all across the Upstate, give or take a few years depending on where you are.

I think you'll see that story unfold again as your Upstate NFT's start to really bear fruit...

I dare to dream and I believe a hundred years from now they'll be erecting NFTs of signs crediting the Upstate revival of the 2020's to this thread.

Well, they doubted Elon when he said he was going to build an electric car.

I may have stumbled upon evidence for GravityLover’s theory that Rt 6 is the border east of the Hudson…

I’m deep in the Upstate again after driving my 80 year old Mom home after a weeks visit with me in Maine. She became very agitated and argued vociferously with my GPS as soon as we entered said Upstate. She then started giving me directions based on old stone churches, abandoned factories, and Stewart shoppes or Price Choppers. Fuck me… I’m outta here asap tomorrow morning.

ticket, you need some UC this time?

I'm still confused by the blue tarp theory. Is this a premise that the moment you see a hint of hick or country ingenuity, you've made it to Upstate?

Ha. BP stations are weird. I was up in Greenwood Lake, NY on my motorcycle last weekend. In NJ, the BP stations are owned by Russians, and in NY they're owned by Pakistanis. I pop my card into the pump and and top up with ~$5.50 of fuel and put the nozzle back. Paki dude comes running out of his little house screaming at me that if I use the card I need to fill with a minimum of $10. I counter with the fact that if I put $10 of fuel in my bike $4.50 of it would be on the ground. Paki doesn't comprehend and continues to yell at me while I'm putting my earplugs and helmet on. I thought he was going to fight me.

More or less. Not that country ingenuity doesn’t exist other places but I think the theory is that it generally does not exist downstate.
