Been in your boat. What's helped me in the past is setting a hard deadline for payment. What they're all stalling for is because they don't want to fully commit yet. Totally dick, but that's what way too many people do these days. It's like they want to make sure nothing better comes up. SO annoying.

Anyway, just say "I have to get everything paid for by [insert time] on [insert date] so you have to pay by then to ensure a spot. After that, you're free to come but you're on your own." That'll show you who REALLY wants to come. Every time I've done this, the people who were dilly-dallying didn't end up coming anyway, so glad I didn't waste the energy dealing with them trying to chase down deposits.

Driving around yesterday, there's a pick up in front of me with a big Confederate flag across the back window. One the bumper is a sticker: "The North Started Slavery and the South Abolished it! Re-read your History!" Underneath was a website that I couldn't make out.

As a former history teacher, I can't imagine the mental gymnastics you'd have to do to come to that conclusion and make a website dedicated to it.

Ask local store to call new store to confirm they do have one for me if I drive there. Lowes did that shit to me, too. Thankfully for an item much smaller than a washing machine. They don't seem to understand that when people order online for pickup in store, the actual store in question is pretty damn important. They seem to think that it's perfectly ok to tell you that they have that item for pickup (but not tell you up front that it's at a different store or ask you if you're ok with the new store). And of course, they have no ability to transfer the item to the store you originally requested.
