The half time act does not get paid. Who the f would do that? Bands looking for some free marketing because they've fallen off the radar.

Apparently, I learned last night that Jay-Z turned down the halftime show in protest with Kaepernick. Damn shame, that woulda been better than Maroon 5. But really, most years HT is when everyone goes out to the deck for a smoke break and another beer and I don't remember any of the HT shows for many years back. Maybe they always suck this bad

I don't even remember most of them. How were the Chili Peppers? Springsteen?

Are you kidding? It's the largest TV audience evah. Free publicity. That's how tours in the old days were justified. They were incredible money losers, but sold records. Then the Stones discovered sponsors. Of course, it can be a career killer. Whatever happened to the Blacked Eyed Peas after that crap performance.

The shit part of it all is the teams having to come back after 30 minutes v 15 min and play in a smoky stadium from all the damn pyros. Stupid.

The best. The marching band was genius. Didn't skip a beat during the storm. And slipped some nastiness in there.

If I remember correctly, the RHCP got raked over the coals for lip-synching and air guitaring.....

    Any votes for favorite commericial?

    Jason Bateman for Hyundai (Elevator)?
Bud Light as usual killed it, the Corn Syrup delivery was hilarious ("but if something DID happen, we'd eat the wizard first, right??) and the crossover with GoT absolutely slayed it (Great day for a joust! The sun is out, I have my lucky loin cloth, cold bud light, comfy throne, I don't have the plague any more..)
Chunky Milk was pretty funny (not sure what it was advertising though)
Michael Buble for Bubly was pretty funny
T-Mobile tried really hard, I thought the one with the boyfriend writing and deleting responses to his GF's "what should we have for dinner" was pretty funny
not funny, but it was kind of cool that BK found footage of Andy Warhol eating a Whopper. (from 1982!) "Eat like Andy"
    any others?

The Audi Heimlich commercial wins it

What an amazing run by the Pats. 6 out of 9 is otherworldly. It’s been fun and frustrating as a Bills fan to watch them run roughshod over the NFL.

With that said - they’re done. Don’t let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya. Its the Pat Mahomes’ Show now and neither Brady nor Belichek can stop that train.
Charlie, here comes the deuce. And when you speak of me, speak well.

One injury and that train derails.

That's football. See above re Gurley and Kupp. Where was Edelman last year? The healthiest team wins for the most part.
BTW--Gronkowski took one hit where it looked like he was considering staying on the ground until the game was over. What are the odds of him playing another season?

Sure. You can look at it that way. Or the first year starter who dropped 24 points on the Pats in the 4Q of the AFC championship game.

Next year he’s older and wiser. Brady is just older, if he comes back at all.

Get ready for the long, cold slog of 9-7’s Pat’s fans.

Wow, got some insider info? I feel like in a couple weeks from now, we will know. But not until then. This is a completely uninformed, personal opinion.

There were many years where 9-7 would have made us ecstatic. There's ups and downs, we get it. We'll go down maybe sooner, maybe later. But this has been the biggest up in league history and you can't take that away. We're fine with that deal.

    Very true. Wonderful run.

For some context - A 4-month-old baby in Boston has seen more championships than a 45-year-old Mets-Jets-Knicks fan. (Via twitter)

I liked the Sox twitter congrats to the Pats for "breaking Boston's 3-month championship drought."
