By this standard, the Ford F150 is better than all of them.

Personally I've never driven a BMW or Mercedes that I liked, and the reliability hell of all Euro brands keeps me away. Though I keep daydreaming about a Cayman someday...

That may be true, but that is comparing apples to raspberries. I will tell you that as a consumer, I would not trade my 2006 550i for any 2010 Lexus. Additionally, while I see dozens (or many) 2004 M-B S, E, SL, etc on the road that still look good (or at least notice them), I rarely (if ever) notice any 2004 Lexus LS460s on the road. OTOH, people who own them always rate them highly. (Personally, I think they are just the people who refuse to buy German, because of their past). Also, I still see many Landcruisers on the road (but who cares if they show rust, or look beat up). All the reviews call them quality cars, so I am not trying to bash them, but I would consider 5 $100k cars, before considering a LC 500h

I'm on the other side of that one. I'd take a Lexus every time over a German car. They just don't break. "Fancy Toyota" is totally fine by me.

This is not really the point of this thread though. I'll fully agree that Lexus doesn't belong in a car porn thread... Stuff like a Jaguar E type is what this is all about.

No. Not really. That's a truck.

The other two, are luxury sedans.

The LS hasn't been relevant in 7 years. The spindle grill design is ruining the brand, and alienating the older demographic that buys them.

It was rhetoric, bobby stainless. I even told you what it was and you still fucked it up. Here's some more. You should post US sales of Lexus, MB, and BMW from 1990 to around 2010. I can wait if you need to check with your manager.

Did you BMW-philes see this piece on Jalopnik about the BMW 1600? I had never heard of this car before. Beautiful lines.

Yeah, that's pretty. Looks like a 911 and a BMW had a lovechild and didn't tell anyone about it.

The first Lexus was competing with some of the best cars ever built. 1990's Mercedes Benz W140 and W124. The interior fit and finish on those Mercedes still holds up today. The Lexus was like half the cost and forced Mercedes to compromise. The W220 (2004) s-class is a nice car but not at the build quality of the previous W140.

And now the LS isn't even a competitor in the market.

    Just a used 911.

Been in a 911 TT while it raped its rev limiter showing some hopped up vette its tail lights. That sound and that feel will never leave me.
