Not to mention everyone in a car who knows still comes through town and over the pass. The line out 82 stretched all the way past the airport yesterday and our neighbor who was coming back from Denver said it was the busiest she’s ever seen it on the pass. Welcome to CO’s new normal!!

I love it when construction, mudslides, crowds, and closures all coalesce into one giant prolapsing stormpocalypse of all that is true and right with I-70 complete with its cherry on top network effects.

Sorry, "Vacationland" got claimed a while ago.

Colorado can maybe go for "just plain ol' lots of people all the time land"?

Some weekends I don’t leave the neighborhood and mostly recreate in a 5 mile radius. I can sometimes pull it off.

I’m amazed at how many FL plates I see these days though.

This. Local loops ftw! I got bit by a dog on a rec path avoiding stalled traffic on CR 308 Dumont July 5th. Sucks when the cunts aren’t satisfied with just cunting up I-70. Silver Valley Rd has been worse than usual this year. Prolly need to exercise the off-road options more frequently.

Yeah, and we have some newer trails for moto and mtb that no one knows about yet. Even the new “locals” who scout the internet all day while they wfh. It is a beautiful thing when you find trails before the internet does.

No, it's going in at 8th St and Summit Blvd. They are also reconfiguring the Frisco Main St intersection.

I just tried to drive from Breck to a job site north of Silvy and forgot about the I70 detour traffic. Made it thru Frisco okay via Bill's Ranch (Hwy 9 NB was back up almost to the hospital traffic signal), but turned around in Silvy and just came back without making it to the actual site. Holy hell, it sucks driving across the county right now. I'll try again Monday. And take Swan Mtn over.

Texas followed by Florida are the two biggest summer markets for Aspen.

My college roommate from Florida arrives today. His kid’s been here all month. Shipped his truck full of bikes/toys and flew private.

More Glenwood Cyn closures due to heavy rain in the area. Also, Loveland Pass is closed due to a mudslide.

This shot from April 2020 came up in my memories today. The shit show was less egregious during stay at home. I vote to re-instate.

Right towards the end of the shut down (like end of May) we camped in CB up Washington gulch (which most of you know is the busiest CB camping spot next to Slate) and got the very first spot then drove up the road to find absolutely zero people camping. It was glorious.

Steamboat is getting absolutely wedged from the I-70 traffic. It's nuts. 131 is a constant line of semis, Oak Creek feeling it too.

Probably the most unattractive thing about Steamboat is the highway running straight through town. It would so nice if the rerouted that shit. Well that and the heat.
