Carson City has some kinda Mountain Bike Fest this weekend.
    https://epicrides.com/events/carson-...d/event-guide/
*Any Maggots showing up for this?*

We were considering going down to Mammy for closing weekend, but will prolly stick around town for this.
    Know nothing about local trails.
Plus, we wanna see the band called "drinking with clowns"...

It's a great weekend of fun here in Carson. Local trails are excellent and rapidly improving, though riding during the race may not offer the usual level of tranquillity we enjoy...

I'll be out tonight and the GF and I may ride the cruiser tandem in the Clunker crit if I have a chance to tune it up.

Looks like Sunday's weather might be legit for the pro race. It's better than the crazy heat from a last year.

Good times on the Round Top to Sisters ski tour on Saturday. Lookers left Moon skied well and has decent coverage. Although it was a bit firm on the hike up...crampons for the win! There's a solid 1-3 feet of packed snow around Round Top and snow is smooth all the way to Winemucca (other than a little navigating around the rocks before final pitch.)

Sisters (Main peak) has a ton of snow at the moment with beautiful corn. The gnar face of The Sisters (Western side) is a bit melted out and there's a dirt patch before reaching Round Top Lake. It looks like there was a major slide during the winter that sent most of the snowpack to the lake, even though that is usually the last bit to melt out, I think Round Top's snow will last longer this Summer. The final chute off Sisters was a bit funky but the rollover and then down to Round Top Lake was heavenly.

Does anybody know anything about the barker pass road opening? Usfs site says it’s delayed because of road damage. I’d been hoping to ski the Fourth of July chutes Monday or Tuesday but looks like I’ll have to go to round top instead.

I was up there this past wednesday and there is a fairly well damaged section of road about 2 miles or so from the top. When I was up there no one was working on it but some bikers told me that it was a full construction zone a few days prior. Definitely doesn't seem like the gate will be opened anytime soon because they still had some work to do. Chutes will be gone real soon, the one remaining guy was pretty thin when we hit it.

Silly me...looking at the brewery website for timing...they must have started around 7, not 9...well we heard like 3 or so songs...
And fuck me...what's the deal with bringing the folding chairs to a reggae gig?
It's not a frigging string quartet. Way outnumbered peeps trying to dance...
And I'm an old dude. Young peeps, get your ass up out of the chair for fuxsake!

I felt sorry for the out-of-shape folks hiking up Shirley Canyon to catch the tram down who clearly were not going to make the last tram.
