Well you’re an angry little buddy aren’t ya? Must be the depression.

After my off leash dog has had his fill of eating wildflowers and shredding up the delicate vegetation I like to put my shorts on a give my pale hairy legs some sun.

    Ahhhh

Actually, dogs are allowed in that wilderness area, though they are supposed to be on a leash (see text below from Glacier Peak Wilderness regulations. I remember getting frustrated when I would see off leash dogs on my recent trip, but then I remembered that I had a group of 14 Boy Scouts and I had no right to complain.

"Dogs are allowed on most other wilderness trails but must be on leash on certain trails, and under control at all times."

Looks like the pup is under control to me.

Yo, Washheads. Was the cherry crop bumper this year? Selling for 2.49/lb here on the EC and loads of 'em at every grocery store. I can't recall them being this cheap and abundant in previous years.

This is from the article I posted in "Shit That Impresses You" about the neighbors who came to aid of a farmer with cancer harvesting all his wheat in just 6 hours.

Wheat harvest is such a pretty time of year (though it can be dusty!)

I think the driver of that car was a Hispanic male but thanks for thinking of me.

Edit: Got that wrong, Ramon Gutierrez was the driver of the car that was hit.

    Here's the report (poor puppers!)

LOWDEN, Washington – A Hermiston woman was transported to a Walla Walla hospital following a three vehicle collision in a construction zone on westbound U.S. 12, about 12 miles west of Walla Walla Wednesday morning.

The Washington State Patrol said Shannon L. Tucker, 43, of Hermiston, was transported to Providence St. Mary Medical Center. No further details of her condition or injuries have been released. She was a passenger in one of the three vehicles involved in the collision that took place at about 7:53 a.m. The driver of the car she was riding in, Ramon Gutierrez, 58, of College Place was not injured and neither was the driver of the third vehicle, Lonnie C. Ferguson, 75, of Walla Walla.

According to the collision report, Robin McGaffey, 58, of Pasco, was traveling westbound, struck the car carrying Tucker and Gutierrez causing it to collide with the third car driven by Ferguson. Both Gutierrez and Ferguson were stopped for traffic in a construction zone near milepost 323 and Woodward Canyon Road.

Troopers said the cause was inattention and that McGaffey was charged with negligent driving in the second degree.

Not a worry but thanks for thinking of me.

Now to wash that image out of my mind...... take your pick of more than two dozen lovely scenic drives in Washington. Last Monday I drove the Palouse Scenic Byway coming home from Spokane. Long way around but worth it. I'd never driven that route before all the way into W2. The drop into Lewiston ID was crazy. That grade must be a nightmare for truckers. At least it has spectacular views.

Even worse is a rule nazi who doesn’t even know the zone rules and mistakenly calls people following the rules an “entitled shit”.

He must a went ahead and put himself in a time out until the embarrassment fades.

    Awesome pics everyone!

Check this out - must be quite the view for the conductor and crew. Trains do not move fast across this bridge:

365 Things To Do In Washington State

#216 - See the longest and highest railroad bridge on the Union Pacific Railroad system. Located near Starbuck, Washington, the historic Joso Bridge spans the Snake River Canyon. Standing roughly 261 feet above the bottom of the Snake River, the bridge has 55 spans and is 3920 feet long. After the construction of the Lower Monument Dam in 1968, water submerged the lower portion of the bridge piers leaving only 194 feet between the top of the bridge and the surface of the river.
