    Best Live Albums

Without going on a treatise about how the concept of a good album is lost in today's industry, I think a thread with some great live music albums is fitting.

I nominate Little Feat to get the festivities rolling.

Wyntons' Quartet was my 80's favorite. We saw Marcus last summer and he had some tales about trying to keep up with Wynton.

Hard to pick one but David Live gets played regularly . Always great musicians but I really like this particular group of players . Earl Slick just nails it start to finish

Bowie live at the BBC was pretty tight as well.

Recently saw an awesome video of a Jeff Beck live performance in Tokyo (yeah not an album but still).

    Best Live Albums

    X3 on Nirvana unplugged

Pixies at the BBC was awesome. Hendrix as well. Even Beatles.

Peel sessions are almost always good...

Lots of great ones listed already. I'll go back a ways and throw out the Allman Brothers at the Fillmore East, Neil Young and Crazy Horse at the Fillmore East, The Dead Europe '72, the Airplane Bless It's Pointed Little Head, and the Replacements The Shit Hits The Fans.

    Some good choices mentioned already!

Let me just add “Bless it’s pointed little head” by Jefferson Airplane.

And one or more of the Crossroads concerts.
