The Rum Bar is quality stuff. @Alpinord, I think you were headed there with your crew the day I met you in the back of a truck on the ride up from Commodore a couple years ago. (I think that was you at least. I remember talking to someone in the CO weather thread about it.)
Definitely think he means Kendall. That would be quite the change for Silverton haha but I wouldn't mind Kendall tram laps right into town.
EDIT added a quote

hey the pict of that top station posted somewhere back in these 8 pages is IMO really sketch to have as a ride you are putting any of the public on and it would appear there is nobody to shut the thing down when the inevitable FUBAR happens

I've missed a shit ton of this thread, but I ran a lift this summer for scenic rides and I'll tell you what in the summer with a 15 foot long platform, railings, and plenty of area for people to step to the side people still got knocked over, fell, and otherwise crazy shit with the chair. Fuck that this lawsuit might close Silverton, but fuck them for being so negligent that was obviously unsafe.

Silverton posted this in a new thread, cross-posting it here.
I suspected that point about her having a relative that worked at the mountain and that being the reason for her getting a lift ride on foot - I've never seen Silverton offer scenic chairlift rides regularly to the public.

My very young kids when they were 4-6 got rides up the Silverton chairlift to play at the top. We had no problems ands greatly appreciate that kindness extended by Silverton.
In subsequent years, several non skier friends, some of whom were overweight Texans and their kids were graciously allowed to ride up and down without incident.
The amount of plain ignorance, disinformation and general lack of respect displayed here for the work that Silverton Mountain has done to provide a different skiing product is just plain sad.
Yes, they do things their way.
If you don't like it, ballsack it up and try to do it better,
But the whining and character attacks is just compleeetly feeble.Merde De Glace On the Freak When Ski

Exactly. Sure, that top station is easily manageable by any of us in the winter, and we would all probably be fine in the summer too. But summer lift access often involves COMPLETELY out of shape people without a single athletic bone in their body riding chairs designed for skiiers, and because of that there is a shitload of extra stuff you have to do to get the stations ready for those types of riders. It's pretty clear that Silverton didn't do it, so they are pretty clearly at fault. Shitty situation, but don't fucking let people ride your lift in the summer unless you've got it set up appropriately.
