Two Chicks or Midtown Gastro Pub (chicken and waffles)... For a dive diner feel head west to Gold and Silver Inn
Perenn is great, but much farther south.

Silver Peak today with a first timer. He started feeling toast just before we made it to the north facing sections so we skied the breakable back down, which didn't help his situation.

Sugar all the way down the whole way out towards Winnemucca Lake on the waxless skis. Gonna be a problem the next storm.

My boy and I did ten laps on Mountain Run at PT today. We were the first ones down this morning so I guess that makes us the first ones down this season. Fun was had. We skied AM yesterday. Had some fresh tracks in the morning.

Lot's of exposure still at both resorts overall, though. Another storm or two would be nice. I hear Mammoth has more open terrain. We'll probably head there next month.

Any word of new terrain/lifts opening soon? Trying to decide if Mammoth is worth the extra drive this weekend (seems like the answer is yes).

According to the Mountain Host I spoke with, they need more snow to get anything else opened up. Looking up at the mountain, I believe her. There are still lots of exposed rocks, logs, etc on most of the runs. Hopefully December delivers.

My kid and I skied Alpine on Wednesday,
then he and a buddy skied Mammoth
yesterday and again today. He said Mammoth was skiing way better. 15 chairs running with 50+ runs open.

I skied Rose for a couple hours yesterday. Basically one chair (Northwest) and a choice of two runs. The snow was firm by the end of the day.

They really fucked up Aida's. Opening day had been bumps peppered with rocks to scrape over. Now it's a steepish ice rink with a occasional rocks cemented in place. Smooth, with no corduroy. Yes you will go fast, good luck finding an edge

I was out at Rose again today to do my 10 laps and checkout the new
Lake view express chair. What little natural snow there is gets scraped off and then it’s down to the man made snow. It’s polished by the end of the day.

I can hear the slight rumble coming down the tracks...

Planning on PTOV on Sunday to get my older kids to meet their Big Mountain team groups but unfortunately my youngest doesn't start until the following weekend so I'm stuck with him on my first day...oh well. Weird, as I don't feel like spending $310 for a lesson...lol.
