A fine day in The Zone.

Awesome day, Rob. That's as special spot you've got up there. Thanks for sharing it.

One more shot, on our way up for lap #2. I just thought this one was pretty.

Just hit zero on the thermometer on the back deck. Wind looks to be blowing a bit as well. I was going to head out for a short tour at lunch, but with -16f wind chill, I think I'll throw another log in the stove.

Getting excited for this weekend. Saturday Lyndon Outing Club with the kids and then Sunday back country in the northern VT snowbelt.

Get the fresh before the consolidation next week.

As long as you don't park in my driveway, you should be good without the avy gear.

Skiing was good at SR yesterday. Spent a couple of hours trying to find the 10" they reported without success, but it was still deep enough to be fun.

My friend just sent me this pic from yesterday. Know the line? There's a large hint in there.

    Starts with a D. Ends with a J's.

Why are we being cryptic with this one?

Edit: Should have added: looks a bit scratchy but fun.

Just a joke...granted a bad one. Pretty obvious where it was...sorry.

Not one rock was hit, which may be a first for me in there. They got 5" a couple days before and then this storm of whatever it ended up being and it was on the coral reef that had formed from the rain/freeze.

    Lol gotcha. I'm laughing.

Your rock dodging skills are impressive. As is the base up there. I've only skied DJ's a couple times, and both seemed to be deeper than Cannon has been yet this year. Still bottomed out though.

I have skied that many times, and there is always that one part by the tram tower and just below that is bad after a few snowboarders sideslip it. I really think they should get in there and clean up just a couple spots and it would be open so much more.

Waited until late afternoon for some hot laps. Snow is unreal, last nights and this morning cold dried out what little moisture was in the snow. Click image for larger version.

Jokes aside, I found very nice and considerably cheaper accommodations at Tremblant. I been there a lot of times and I know the mountain. I want to check something new out, so between killington, sugarloaf and sugarbush do any of them have considerably better terrain than tremblant? Sugarloaf above the treeline skiing sounds cool but I read it's often wind scoured.
