I am on round one of my mountain collective tour now headed to Sun Valley coming from JH via Targhee. Dropped off the family at the Idaho Falls airport for the fast way back to Iowa. Converted the rig from family truckster to dirtbag solo camping wagen. Stoked on how well it slept. I can stretch all the way out at just shy of 6'2". Used the cooler, gear bag, pillow combo for the gap and it worked perfectly. Morning coffee, a book, and a day off to rest my powder weary legs.

Coming home with that box and favorable winds I was getting a legit (manually calculated) 29 mpg averaging 73 mph (cruise set 80 when legalish or 5 over) on the computer over consecutive tanks. 21 hours Ketchum to Moose with sleepover in Pine Bluff rest area and lots of black ice.

On the way out with big head/cross winds and two extra people in the car I was 22 ish. Takes horsepower to push wind but impressed that my range is the same in poor conditions with the 14.5 gallon tank as my old Outback with the 16.9 gallon tank. Range is actually usefully longer in good conditions with the tall 6th gear and engine able to take advantage by sipping gas.

Also 6th gear pulled the hill out of Laramie going east no problem. Variable speed limit was set at 65 and we held 70 with cruise on no problems probably could do 80.

Any of you VW drivers want this? Got it in a giveaway last year and it’s been sitting in a box ever since. Couple bucks for shipping should cover it. Click image for larger version.

Last I heard that was a rumor. Eg. https://carbuzz.com/news/exclusive-a...vant-to-the-us

    Did Audi confirm it?

I drove my ‘15 GTI 5200 miles from Vermont to Jackson, WY and back a couple summers ago and can confirm this.

85-90 mph through the remote portions all day long, no problems, still got 28-30 mpg.

22k miles? Damn near new. I wonder what it’ll go for compared to a new one.

That Volvo looks like it has everything but sufficient power to move a 4k pound beast around.

Volvo is fully invested in turbo 4s. Nothing wrong with that but remember when they had Yamaha V8s?

That's all well and good but I'm driving 200hp now in a car that's sub 2800# and it's slow compared to over half of the cars on the road now. If the test drivers in that article were driving the US motor I don't think they would have had so many great things to say about how playful and fun the car was.

Do you really need the 1.32 inches extra height? Just get the V60 r-design, or the momentum, or whatever they call it, with the 316 hp
I’ve had BMWs w/ sport suspension for 12 years now and I drive constantly in the mountains and I’ve needed extra height exactly once, (so we took my buddy’s jeep).

Yea, I actually didn’t know the T6 had extra height. I just know that my XC60 T6 is heavy, feels heavy and having 300hp moves it like a motherfucker. Guessing a T5 engine would make it feel like a Subaru.

Right? WTF is wrong with these guys? At least offer a turbo 6 with 350+ hp. The 4 bangers have 0 appeal to me and I have had Volvo wagons forever.

Saw a Volvo V90 in the wild today. Kind of a strange looking wagon. Definitely has a combo of throwback and future design look to it. Stands out in a crowd of cute SUVs.

I saw a V90 CC at the stealership when I stopped in for some parts. The car looked great, but I can't get around that 4 banger engine. My neighbor just bought a sweet looking RS5. With the seats folded down there is plenty of room for the big pups with the hatchback. Now I just need $75k I can piss away on a depreciating toy.
