It is all they have. Imagine if you will that the Reagan administration had taken climate change seriously.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Dude just did what guys like him have done for generations. Use blonde haired blue eyed Jesus to keep old white Christian men in power and make money doing it.
do some nice for tax purposes and at least give lip service to Jesus message, but read that first sentence again

Pat Robertson, and his successful strategy of turning religion into a right-wing force, played probably more of a role than anyone else in making Christianity toxic to generations of Americans. When you look at how many people in the US used to identify as religious, say, 40 years ago, compared to how many do now (particularly if you're comparing young people), Pat Robertson deserves considerable credit for the decline.

just because pat cloaked himself in Jed us doesn’t mean he wasn’t a dividing moron. Unlike Jerry Jr and Rushbo he wasn’t a cuck

Who, now?? How about James Watt, the original environment-hating Interior Secretary. He died today as well.

    This guy:

If you had cable in the US in the last 20 years, you'd at least have flipped by the channel for the 700 Club (CBN). His brand of twisting social issues in ways that got his base of "Christian" followers all fired up, really laid the groundwork for more mainstream "news" personalities like Bill Obrien, Tucker Carlson, etc.

Might be a region and generation gap. But I'd say more like 40 years.

These scammers are so cringy and repugnant. Robert Tilton. Falwell. Bakers. Graham. Swaggart. If they weren't dying off, I'd be adding them to my 'people we will eat' list.

Thanks for posting that. Zappa was a savant. I can’t imagine he would’ve ever believed that these Christian phonies would end up choosing Donald Trump to be their fascist leader.
