Got up to T-Line this morning to drop the wife off for work and it’s just socked in. Almost no visibility/skiing by Braille so I just went back home. Despite the 19” they got overnight, I’m just not interested in getting myself hurt on Xmas eve...

that's what she said
when you go up on weekends, will you be in RV parking or regular?
with k2jr in tow, we will be weekend warriors-early ups on HRM is appealing
did I read $99 for a peak ticket now? holy hell!
we ski the morning of the Dec 25th every year. see you in MEX que tomorrow at 8:45

I think we're main lot folk now. Too many conveniences over HRM, assuming we arrive by 645am. RV lot is too far from lifts IMO. I like 1st or 2nd row close to the stadium side. Much convenience! If we happen upon an RV spot on Saturday afternoon, we'll grab it and then just re-park up front on Sunday morning.
Small chance we'll try and go up tomorrow. Gonna be some blue sky! I'll let you know if we do. Probably just take the wife's Sportage though, ski 4 hours and head home for Xmas.

Wondering if MHM’ers can agree on a day to have a lot party?
Seems like it might be a HRM side sorta thing since it’s easier to dominate a zone (like near the bc access side)
Think about your winter schedules sometime in later Feb?

Nice shot J. Where was that?
Spent yesterday AM with my buddy John (2nd from left) looking for Santa. Kid has a wicked snowplow - can go top-bottom nonstop for hours in a wedge.
Thought he was gonna fall off the chair when he spotted the Red Geezer. Got to ski with him a bit. Made the kid's day.
Asked Santa for 189 Billy Goats, stock layup with an additional layer of carbon fiber.

Yup, dumping in Sisters as well. Individual flakes big enough to cover our cat.
Hopefully this will keep the tourons off the road early tomorrow.

a bit crowded, but great skiing today on hood. Had the whole family in the pow
cops were filming the parking lot crashes leaving meadows main today. They could have laid down some gravel, but they must have been having fun. about every other car leaving was sliding into something. Even cars with snow tires. Not sure I've seen that before. reinforces that I hate parking on the end.

Most south part of Oregon was awesome today, 7-11". Constantly amazed what a rad little mountain Mt. Ashland is.
TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

What was the surface? More deep snow?
We had maybe 4-6 new inches (twss) on Sunday afternoon. Saw several that couldn't get out of their parking spots. I started putting on my chains because I'm, like, supposed to, or whatever... But I decided they sucked and that I squeak in under the weight limit on paper, so I chanced it with the new Nokian HD studs. Who knew 3500lbs of weight on each rear tire would make the thing such a tank. Well, probably everyone and especially jonesy I'm guessing. But it was an eye opener for me. Still not seeking to learn the limits in corners or downhill braking, but I can gun it anywhere else with traction to spare. Exhaust braking on a diesel is a game changer coming down a snowy mountain.

Easy driver. That jake can get you in trouble on slick road conditions. If the jake has multiple stage settings run it on the first or lightest setting on slick roads. Your on top of the GVW rating for chaining.
You can scale your rig at the Brightwood scales for a heavy weight to be sure. Nice rig by the way.

Nill accumulation today. but glaze w/ 33 degrees over packed snow. common weather, but it was particularly slick today when we were headed out at that time. saw many fender benders with parked cars.
I'd be surprised if chains are ever going to be necessary in your rig with studs.
