I think it's going to be terrible. A shameless, nostalgia fueled cash grab that relies almost entirely on cameos and references to the 90's. But I'm still going to watch it.

Without Jay and Silent Bob there would have never been a Deadpool movie. Marinate on that shit.
I tried watching Yoga Hosers or whatever and that sucked. KS should be able to pull this one off though.

The first time I saw Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, I hated it. A lot of that, however, had to do with me being in a press screening of the film with a bunch of critics who were all considerably older than me. None of them laughed throughout the film, thus making me a bit self-conscious about laughing out loud during the film.
I interviewed Smith shortly after and told him the story. He chastised me for letting a bunch of decrepit critics dictate how I watched a film.
The next time I saw the film (another press screening, ironically), I let my inhibitions go, said "fuck it" in regards to the other critics in the audience, and let myself go. I ended up laughing my ass off non-stop. I mean it's pure juvenile humor, but we need that sometimes.
Similar thing happened the first time I saw Mallrats. I thought it was aimless and lame. I told Smith as much in an interview with him (I interviewed him probably 1/2 dozen times when I was a journalist, fwiw), but also pointed out that it felt like he just took Universal's money and got all of his friends together and had a party and filmed it; you know as if it was a giant cinematic pisstake to the studio system. He pretty much copped up to that assessment. In later years and upon repeated viewings, I have really grown to enjoy Mallrats. It's like a glorious homage to the wacky, somewhat aimless/chaotic comedies of the late '70s and '80s (Animal House, Bachelor Party, Revenge of the Nerds, etc).
That said, I was not terribly fond of his last few films: Red State and Tusk (have not seen Yoga Hosers yet and cannot remember what I thought of Cop Out, but I have a feeling I didn't dig that one either!).

Technically speaking, K. Smith is 48 y/o. Although he turns 49 in August...

Some retro-styled, flashback type light reading for those inclined.
Hard to believe that the last Jay & Silent Bob flick was 18 years ago...
