    Girardelli could’ve wooped your ass with his feet stuffed into a couple of stale baguettes.

    +2 on first-gen gotamas, before they took the metal out. Especially when you look at what else was available at the time (like pocket rockets), those were revolutionary. And threw a horrific rooster tail to blind anyone behind you.

    Someone raid the Stockli factory for old DP and SS Pro molds and we’re well on our way.

    Hang around a resort on a midweek groomer day and you'll always see a few old guys skiing K2 Recons--"extinct" skis that refuse to die.

    Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

    Caber ski boots were bought out by Rossignol and became their in house brand in the late 80's. I raced in Caber Azzuro's in the mid 80's which became the Rossi R900's?

    I am flat base biased though.

    Not sure the 100 eight series matches up to the gotama.

    Safe skiing out there, some big events out here lately.

    Fantastic ski.
    I just wish it came in a sub 192 length. I'm not a large person, and I'm not getting any younger.

    What a shame; And you didn't pull all of those solly clamps prior, did you?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I still roll my first gen LPR's, not extinct here in JH. Rode them today for 15 laps. Still love that ski and can rail it today as well as 10 years ago.
    Look keeps making metal pivots and every year people blow loads over new colors, sorry...colorways, and which would look best on which skis. Solly discontinues metal drivers and people say no one is blowing up the current 16 dins so who really needed them at all. Yeah, I like metal Sollies. Probably don’t need them but they’ve never given me trouble.
    On the topic of extinct, when did the word color change to colorway? Right up there with abundance of caution on the stuff that bothers me and maybe shouldn’t scale.
    Color means color.
    Colorway means a combination of colors.
    I get it. Five to ten years ago companies introduced lines in new colors. Now companies introduce new colorways often with a picture of solid single color pieces.
    https://www.look-bindings.com/look-pivot-15-pit-viper
    Three new “colorways”. One being a solid single color and one being raw which would be no color at all in theory.
    Because I was looking at helmets tonight.
    https://www.smithoptics.com/en_CA/he...AMBSMMIPS.html
    Select colorways offered without MIPS® system
    But the only helmets without mips only come in a single solid color. If you want a helmet with two colors, you get mips. Copy writers are fancying up their words and it doesn’t even seem like it’s the proper word.
    If your retro-grouch company is hiring, let me know where to forward my resume or are we all calling them cv’s these days?
    Yeah, the marketing departments definitely like to make it sound fancy when they're selling the exact same thing with a dab of fresh paint on it.
    The retro grouch company will do marketing the old fashioned way: by paying younger people to jump off cliffs on skis. And boobs, probably.
