Davo Karnicar killed
First time skier of Mt. Everest and seven summit skier Davo Karnicar was killed. Accident happened yesterday close to his home village Jezersko while working in a forest. It seems tree fallen on him.

Dude stared death in the face and laughed so many times. Ironic and tragic that something as trivial as cutting down a tree would be the cause of his demise. Such an amazing ski resume, not to be repeated anytime soon.
RIP

Amazing life. I would rather be felled by a tree in Slovenia than some incurable disease. Sad for his children, but they will press on.

You wouldnt want to ski on them. His signature is on them but to call them noodles is unfaur to noodles worldwide. There were 3 in thst line and they all flexed every which way but sunday. I guess they made it to the top and back but i was skeptical when i checked them out. They couldnt give them away at the consignment store a few years ago. Might be some still there. I considered getting some for the ridiculously light weight set up only because they were less than $100

Im thinking he meant after he skied everest, or atleast thats how i took it. Elan make good skis but they arent on the tip of everyones tongue. Not a ton of marketing. It was a while ago too, pre ig influencer days

Here’s an interview with him on skiing Everest. He credits the internet with funding the project.

I was wondering how he dealt with the ladder at the Hillary Step, but he skied around it, and around the ice fall, too. Pretty legitimate, although I imagine there was some side-slipping in spots.
