WASATCH STOKE, CONDITIONS, OBSERVATIONS AND ASSORTED DRIVAL 16-17

    Time to ski!

Poked around the Brighton periphery today. Nice sunny day out, not a bad start to the season. Plenty of shit to hit on the way down (duh!)

Was any one bottoming out on grass or rocks? I was watching with the fiance from the Alta Lodge; wished I was up there enjoying the view and sunny weather.

Damn. JTrue picked the right zone. I battled with sharks all day at the top of Grizzly Gulch (Patsy Marley?). Was nice to go for the first walk of the year though.

Haha I'll definitely play the newb card. Grew up here, but lived in Kentucky for 3 years. Hah, oh well, lesson learned.

Wasn't trying to offend more like give advice. Have fun and be safe. I've seen that area claim at least one ACL and a few worse injuries. I'm sure there might've been a few good turns in there

No, seriously, no offense taken. I meant lesson learned for next year. Next year, I will avoid that spot at low tide.

I took one look at that meat grinder and skied back down the shoulder where I skinned up. The most fun turns today were honestly the last corner cut on the summer road where there was a mini mogul line. We need a bit more snow to open up options. Looks like the next few days have some potential, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Might've chatted with you for a minute near TLP.

Sharktank out there. Moar snow, please.

TLP? Not quite sure what that is. Were you solo and on a tele set up with a green patagonia jacket?

I was orange and blue patagonia. If so, hey!

Skied up around Catherine's Pass today. Was full blown winter up high, still a bit boney down low. Did two laps, both boot top to knee deep, both pristine runs with no rock or log tags. Was amazing.

Also, it snowed a solid 5 inches on the car in 4 hours. Most excellent. Looking promising!

Great turns on Great Western. Snowing and blowing. You'll hit rocks and logs off groomers. Still scraped only a few rocks on the groomer. Did not think it was going to be THAT good. It was great.

Twin Lakes Pass. AT with a blue jacket. Must've been someone else.

Gonna test my luck at the Bird tomorrow, anyone endure the zoo this weekend?
