High pressure cell forecasted to stick around for another week. Damn. Maybe this is the usual January drought a month early.

One last window to get some work done around the house before winter sets in. Nothing wrong with that.

Not sure you'll be able to see your tips much less any tits if this fog stays put

At least with the temp inversion, your beer will stay cold down there

If the snow turns to shit, maybe I'll just do laps of the line for 2

On the bright side, if you can't see where you're going, we won't be able to see how screwed up the entry to Nash is.

The entrances won’t be fucked until about 930

Jokes on you, I'm gonna bring my whole crew through to sideslip the entry.

I still think the most advanced slope this time of year is the ramp atop 2

The gold course wasn't to bad this afternoon. It was pretty empty, and I only hit one little ice patch. It was pretty foggy half way up the mountain though.

Hopefully central will be nice on Sunday outside of being a shit show

Noted. Thanks. Yah this area and Roaring Ridge/Mt. Catherine area seemed like the most learner friendly areas of the pass. Good terrain with lower consquences

Jason Hummel has made public the end all skier photograph of the century on his Facebook page. It’s basically a silhouette of a skier with her skis like pointing up and away to the left all in shadow while she is suspended in the air and the snow tracers coming off her skis are the only thing in the photo that is lighted. Backlit to be specific.

A fair amount of Roaring Ridge and Mt Catharine isn’t lower consequence terrain

Agreed, I think nearly everyone I know has gotten cliffed out their first time on Catherine. Plenty of terrain traps too.

For "learner friendly" I'd probably point more toward Kendall Stump and maybe Cave Ridge, but I suppose getting cliffed out is usually a decent learning experience too

    Ha. True and true.

Add Snow Lake Divide to the list of learner friendly

Even on the NW facing lines of the peak? From the top angling slight skiers left.
From Google Earth and CalTopo it seemed there was a sweet spot of lower consequences and cliffs from the peak.
