    Looking for lighter Devastator options

Love the Devastors but not for touring.
Looking for a good true 50/50 ski that would have a similar feel to the Devis but in the 9lb neighborhood. New Black Crows Corvus sounds like a contender but I haven’t had an opportunity to demo them.
    Opinions?
    Other options?

Is the main thing you like about the Devastator the subtle reverse camber, the fact that it’s got a mount point of around -5cm from TC, or the fact that it is almost a full twin tip?

Never skied any of these, but on paper the Faction CT 3.0, the Moment Meridian Tour 107, the Moment Wildcat Tour 108, and the Folsom Primary SRC come to mind. I’m sure something custom from Praxis would get close too.

I read that these are getting lighter for next year. https://www.newschoolers.com/ski-gea...571/Devastator

Also check out Hojis or Ravens. They aren't too dissimilar to Devastators.

I would say the rocker profile is dead on for my style.
They feel like power steering whether pivoting, slarving, or carving and absolutely destroys mank.
At 9lbs, that is my holy grail

Crovus is a wider Daemon at 108 and reverse camber. The Daemon is closer to the M4 era Mantra, its a dam good ski (one of the best ive ever demoed.) but its more for resort fun.

    Why is that?
If the weight is in line (the redesign put it on a diet) why wouldn’t you recommend it for bc?

Volkl 100eight is worth a look in the 189. Katana also. Both on the lighter end of things but are pretty sweet skis in their own right.

Another rocker/flat/rocker fan chiming in: raven, v werks katana, bmt 109, volkl 108, Corvus, daemon, meridian, old blizzard scouts are kinda it in the 50/50 + less than 120 under foot bucket I think. Only personally skied the scouts.

Was just thinking about this the other day. Love my devs for the resort, though I wish they came in a 188. Lightening them next year will just ruin them for the resort while still probably being heavier than what I'd want to tour on.

Does anyone know if the meridian tour rocker profile is more aggressive than the devs? I think anything more than the devs might suck for hardpack skin tracks.

Its still a heavy ski, its lighter than an M5 Mantra, but its not a freebird and has a lot of metal in it, I can haul ass on the 183.

    Dynafits Beast 108's

I have no idea if they're any good, but they fit the description.

Fuck. Forgot from my list. Definitely look decent for soft snow.

This. Or the chugach. I think the 188 chugach is right around 2100g/ski. Great all around touring ski.

Moment Commander 108. They’re incredible light for a charging ski

The chugach intrigues me but I haven't seen any for sale anymore, and I can't find a great shot of the rocker profile.

I read that they had some influence from a 4frnt designer, but if it has as much camber as the hoji/raven, I think that's not really the same thing as the devastator anymore?

    Update:
Spent this season on the new Ravens.
Amazing, everything I hoped for. I was concerned with the narrow tips; at 121mm they are the narrowest tipped skis I've been on in years.
My concerns were absolute non-issues. They float surprisingly well and punch way above their weight class in resort mank. No, they're not the crud destroyers of the Devis but way closer than a 1700 gram ski has any right to be. Combine that with the amazing turnability (power steering) of the Devis and you have a BC glade-skiing machine.
Maybe best of all is they make me look like a better skier than I am.
