We played Hungry Hungry Hippo 2 days ago.

Rock-em sock-em robbots maybe tonight; had to glue the red robbot's head.

Online Risk for those really bored.

Does it have a virtual board flipping option?

    It’s not about hotels.

It’s about buying everything you can.
Build nothing. Just prevent everyone else from building.

It’s a hack. And it works.
But it makes the game so boring.

Every time I play monopoly with my kids, I start with the intention of letting them win, but always end up grinding their hopes and dreams beneath my well-polished heel.

Afterwards I am wracked with guilt.
    focus.

An extension of this strategy is stringing together monopolies on the low rent districts and buying all the houses so nobody else can build.

Most don’t consider that there are a limited number of houses, but it’s a valid strategy and can be an early checkmate even if it makes for a long slow boring grind to the end.
    focus.

I forgot that one. Yes. It’s the fool that returns houses to the pool in exchange for one hotel.
I think that is the biggest hack.

A lot of the strategy depends on whether you auction a property if the player that lands on it does not buy it.

I think auctioning is the only way to play. It gets more aggressive and the game ends sooner.

As a child we never did the auctions and games could take two days.
But we had no cable tv or internet.

Just pulled a rabbit out of the hat against the family today. I only had 6 properties, but I was cash heavy. Traded 2 for 1 to get the pinks by jail. Immediately upgraded to all hotels. By some combination of luck, my son bk'd his sister, so he controlled everything else on the board except my 5 properties. He lands on my stuff first and has to mortgage half his stuff. I manage to dodge him, he hits on me again and is down to one group and he had to downgrade hotels to houses. I get hit but can pay cash. He managed to get everything unmortgaged and I figure I'm fucked. Somehow he managed to hit my stuff 3 of 4 turns in a row while I dodged.

5 property win. I didn't think it was possible.

I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Lol, too true. Had one roommate in college that would usually end up tossing the whole board after hour 3.

    I was gripped too.

Fucking love monopoly, always have. This global pandemic would be the perfect time to show my family no mercy, but the lady of the house knows I'll beat her and the kid's too young... but eager to lose. Winning?

If I was videoing it, I'd send it to Joe Buck and be a YouTube sensation.
