Damn cold for late April (high of 14 at the summit on Saturday?). I guess the spring turns will have to wait another week or so.

edited to add - I can't tell if this guy is a total joey or I'm totally excited for him for his first experience at Tux.

So you can hike up a nice quiet hill and have the place to yourself! Can anyone remember a closing day with this much coverage? Cannon closed last weekend with full coverage, even in the woods. Yes, it's firm, but more snow on the way!

Strong flurrying going on right now here in the middle of the NEK valley. Should be piling up a bit above 1500'.

Ski Magazine boot test, at Kmart. Paid to ski, I like that. Mid-level buckets, but the skiing is way better than it should be. Leads me to believe that Saturday will be tits.
I think I’ll come skiing with y’all kooks!

EAST COAST ROLL CALL - Turn it up to 11

My new hero, I love everything about this video. And his choice of K2 Public Enemy’s, so bold. Zero fucks given, shred the gnar or the gnar shreds you. So many clutch sayings. He ripped the shit out of Right G.
Thanks Peruvian, I’m gonna watch this cat progress the sport. Who says ski instructors don’t rip? This is the new jack city. I’ve seen the future of steep line skiing, and this is the it!

    wow, certainly is.

it's too bad so few come out to ski/ride in the spring.
*should* be an easy thing to promote. tailgating, skiing soft snow in a tee. more tailgating.

was at platts the last 4 saturdays (all bluebird)...a ridiculous number of people missed the warmest temps and the deepest snowfall during that stretch.

we braced for parking issues for the springfest on the first of the four but it was pretty cold...and the staff wearing hawaiin garb looked pretty silly.
vip parking was easy even for the fashionably late.

hoping for warmer than forecast temps ag k on saturday.

Like a complete bozo I left a pair of Salomon AT boots in the BV upper parking lot today and drove away. I went back as soon as I realized I had left without them but they were gone by the time I got back. I waited around and talked to a bunch of people coming back from their laps but no luck. If anybody hears anything can you please shoot me a PM? I’m sure somebody grabbed them to be helpful, now I just need to track them down.

Jerry of the year. Guy is lucky to be alive. Fast forward to around 15 minutes to see any semblance of skiing.

Started to watch, but quickly looked away.
Having survived, the folks involved will probably return. Good luck to them.
