Wind River sunset from Big Sandy Rd off of 191. It seems impossible to due justice to this mountain range with a picture but it sure fun to try! The high res version is better but need would need a couple three screens to do it justice.

Not nearly as many Short-ears as a few yrs ago... the DFW started a restoration project on the reserve last yr.. tore it up.. dug channels.. removed a ton of dead debris.. and will eventually flood it for salmon restoration.. but there are still a few wintering..

Great layering in these shots and great light. IMHO, I think a crop of photo #2 concentrating on the entire mtn on the right side would look really good. #1 feels too cramped and #2 too much empty sky.
Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Thanks man! Yeah, #1 is kinda tight. It’s a square crop for Insta. It’s funny, cause if if the crop is less than ideal, square or 5x4 vertical will get better engagement than a properly cropped landscape orientation shot. I’ve been experimenting a bit on insta lately.

Here’s a quick crop on my phone of #2. I think you’re right about going a bit tighter.

Exactly the crop I was thinking would look good!

The detail and layering in the foreground trees is much more visible in this crop vs the wider crop as well.

    Great Alpen-scapes @LiveLarger and @dfinn!

Dig the detail in the trunk @east or bust.

Really love the flare and glow on the waves in "Ventura Pier" @supermoon

This dude heard me scheming for a dusk patrol lap after the storm lets up this afternoon. He was pissed.
