Whirlwinded out there and looked at it today. Now I’m even more excited, our lots are nice and flat, the wife is stoked and the views are stupendous. Curious, when I click around the Daggett county tax parcel map I see people with structures and not 6 lots? Did you have anything on your 7 lots? Were you able to leave a trailer there?

I’m going in with the assumption I won’t be able to build or leave anything, gonna watch for a 6th and hope for the best. I am hoping I can pitch a tent and camp for a few days while dragging the lot with my 4 wheeler and chain to get rid of the sage/cacti.

Unless there’s a fly in the ointment I’m going to own these lots.

Fun fact, when clicking around the map I noticed a “Kyle Beckerman” owns 12 lots south of mine. Googled the SLC address given and it’s up in Ensign Peak area. Drove past his 12 lots and saw the soccer ball in the weeds, pretty sure it’s “that” Kyle.

Nice Bob! “That” kyle loves to fish, so wouldn’t surprise me.

That is awesome. We've driven through but this is our first time really exploring the area. This place is awesome. Yesterday we caught fish and then bagged a peak.

    Oh and look for it

What flies do you all from CO put on the line in higher alpine lakes like Long Lake/Brainard Lake near Ward or Loch Lomond?

I usually fish a dry -dropper rig. Chubby Chernobyl or an Amy's Ant with a black zebra midge or bead head hare's ear. I've also done really well with a stimulator in the IPW alpine lakes.

If you're going to Brainard, I'd skip Brainard Lake, it gets fished alot since it's next to the parking lot. Long is good, and Mitchell and Blue are worth a walk.

Don't miss the outlet stream from Long Lake -

Wanted to hike, fish, bag a peak. No fish in the lake but views from the top were nice.

Swimmy you are killing it! Love the photos. We decided on a change of venue and headed to Montana to meet some friends and fish some different waters

Makes me sad in the pants to see what has become of what used to be one of my favorite rivers. The guide traffic is unbelievable.

But it was awesome to hang out in camp, catch up with some old friends and drink some brown water and watch the locals walk by.

Holy shit. Yeah, they can have it.

I think I'm pretty much done with main stems until September.

My game right now is alpine lakes.

This is crazy to see. It’s one of my favorite destination waters as well. Tough year for the MT crowd. Low/no water on the big hole, high water for irrigation on the beaver head, hopefully this is a result of these guides having nowhere else to go.

I may be wrong, but the Madison doesn’t require the same outfitter permitting as some of the other waters in the area? I heard from some buddies that this may be changing??

    hopefully it's temporary?
i wondered if fire/smoke pressure & hoot owl was just creating a natural squeeze?
i can't imagine the guides love that kind of scene either

It is a little bit from the other rivers, but the Madison has the same hoot owl regs in place, the problem is they have NO control on the amount of guides allowed in the water. I passed or was passed by probably 50 plus boats on Saturday, other than my boat I counted 4 other boats who weren't guides. I keep hearing rumblings of them changing this but I will believe it when I see it, money seems to do most of the talking in that town.
By the way nice bow by your wife, I love that dirt road.

Yet they tell us traffic on that river is something like 80-20 private to commercial. That is such bullshit. I'd love to see how they gathered that data.

EXACTLY!! Complete and utter horseshit - just follow the money on that whole scenario. It ain’t the private boats.

Every boat in that picture had a guide in it We were the only 2 boats at the ramp that didn’t have a guide placard - and we were already out when I took that picture.

I was watching that ZOOM conference when they said that. Comments went crazy with people calling bullshit. The guide lobby has a lot of political pull, that Teabagger state legislature nut from Ennis does anything they ask for.
