Finger Injury- Doctor Worthy?

I'd get an x-ray. I've had foot and finger fractures that I neglected to have diagnosed that ended up causing some problems later.

You're screwed. I'd go ahead and amputate immediately.

I've done that about 10 times. You don't need a doctor for that boo boo.
Peroxide and a bandage will do. It probably doesn't feel great now but you will be fine.Live Free or Die

Doctor here--I don't think you need to go to the doctor, since you can bend the tip. If the bone is broken it won't change the treatment. Clean it well, put some antibiotic ointment on it and a bandaid. You might get a fingertip splint from the drugstore to protect it while you work. If there's more bleeding under the nail a doc could drill through the nail to let the blood out. Or you can google how to do it yourself.

I'm with OG--it doesn't look too bad, the bone may be cracked but isn't crushed so treat conservatively. Save the doc for a day or two from now when it's the size of a grape and the throbbing is killing you, or man up and DIY it: https://windhamhospital.org/health-c...tail?id=zm6154

Did a walk in at the local primary care office.
They soaked the finger for like 15 minutes in saline and disinfectant.
The nail was cut across the top and ripped out on the side. Doc said it needs either stitches or a glues on t strap bandage. I opted for t strap. I'm going to lose the nail for sure, but it's hopefully ok.
She thinks it may be broken, but as oldgoat said she doesn't think it would change treatment that much. She mentioned an x-ray could be helpful, but decided to wait depending on pain/inflammation tomorrow.
I'm glad to have to nail glued on for now. It was worth the hour of time and $25 co pay to see a doc.
Thanks all.

A good way to help speed healing to poor blood flow areas is contrast baths. Maybe more/less effective on bone healing but helpful with tendon or ligament injuries. Also those little ring things that you can roll around the joint that is nothing you. Not a doctor but hurt myself a lot.

I did the drill procedure on myself once. Got a fingernail good and after 3 days the pressure was just constant, the throbbing getting intense. All Blakked out.
Boss says drill it.
WTF? I say...so's I put a skinny bit in the dewalt, turn the speed to low and get busy. My main concern was popping through and jabbing the ultra tender skin beneath, ouch, that's gonna hurt the most.
After about 30 revolutions, it pops through, blood squirts about a foot into the air and oh holy shit does it feel a gazillion times better immediately.

Kevo - what were you doing to smash it so well? Putting on the snow tires?

Doctor here, if you had come to see me I would have shot you like any injured horse.
If you were a labrador I would have just told you to harden the fuck up.
