I try to fish as much as I can in NC - but I'm in the piedmont region. Most of my fly fishing is for bass. Any tips?

Got out on the fly today - got one small guy bass but couldn't pull him in all the way.
Where are you usually fishing and what for?

I'm in Blowing Rock 'til Thursday. Fished the John's River near Globe today. Nice fishing for really skinny water. Got a hot tip on Meat Camp Creek for tomorrow. Gonna head to the Valle after the weekend. Lemme know if you wanna fish.
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.

Headed to Blowing Rock next Saturday. Not sure if I will try to fish. If I do, where is the closest good spot in Blowing Rock?

Water's pretty warm in VC now. Seeing way more bass and such than trout. Caught a tiny spawner bluegill this morning, fell in the creek, had a big time. Hard to fish around all the kids swimming (and others fishing).

Will be in Valle Crucis on Friday evening next week for some music and stuff. If anyone is around, shoot me a PM.
Love to meet some mags and have some beers while the kids run around.
This is the first of many trips up there, now that the kiddos are road trip age, and my buddy has a condo in Blowing Rock for us to stay in. Ski trips are next.

Back in Montana. But the higher up Wilson Creek I got the better the fishing was. Tenkara would probably be the way to fish those upper pools.
I'll be back around Thanksgiving for a few weeks.Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.

Just got back from a trip to the Smokies for native brookies. Did not disappoint. Above the waterfall on Lynn Camp Prong found dozens of those beauties, willingly slurping #14 elk hair caddis as fast as I could throw them. Couldn't believe such little fish would take such a relatively huge fly. Also fished Cataloochee Creek in Maggie Valley and the Little River a few miles above Elkmont campground. Productive as fuck. Good times.
