A sanitation worker once said to me "It might look like shit to you, but to me it's bread and butter."
A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.

Just booked an Alaska cruise and wondering if fatbergs are on the regular itinerary or an excursion for extra $$$?

    Officially training for Alaska(n) cruise.

I hear the hipsters pay big money for them rendered down.

If you can lasso one and bottle it you would be rich beyond the dreams of Avarice.

You should see plenty of them as many of the passengers on cruises are actually fatbergs themselves.

Srsly. No self-respecting bacon eater dumps the fat down the drain. WTF?

About the only things I deep fry are corn tortillas for enchiladas and chile rellenos. I strain the oil through cheese cloth and save it for next time. Since I only use it for those dishes and since the enchilada sauce and chiles have enough heat and chile taste to kill any off taste it works fine. If I do use fresh oil for something more delicate it gets strained into the used oil bottle for the next batch of Mexican food.

It doesn't seem to turn rancid--in a cool, dark place with all the food particles filtered out, plus we make a lot of enchiladas so it gets used up fairly quickly. Besides, at my age I don't worry about long term health problems.
