Any word on sizing and weights for the New Pollard skis? Interested in the outline as something light and playful that might compare well to the Bent Chetler 120. I am hopeful for a size between the 184cm and 192cm Bent Chetler.

So you can match all the black pow skis. Or look better on the white ones. Stealth
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

Should read: Gotama and Mantra. ;-).

    Or— Mantra 102, Mantra 96.

Stoked on it, though. That 102 is my next Hakuba resort ski with CAST.

Anyone know more specifics of Black Diamonds airbag pack lineup for next year. I ran across this website, in some language I can't read without google translate... It shows what I've seen mentioned, appears to be modular system with a base unit and different zip on packs (kind of like the ABS system?). However, these seem to use actual batteries, not the new Alpride E1 supercapacitor system. They are lighter than the current BD packs, but far from light. I was really hoping they were going to make a larger version of the their new E1 pack... Like a 32-35 liter version...

Well, yeah actually... The link I posted shows the modular pack is a battery pack, not super capacitor. So I'm specifically wanting to know if they are making a bigger capicitor pack (which I don't believe is clarified anywhere on the pages you mentioned)

Seems like the Factory has little interest (high cost being a big deterrent and no performance difference (except liner) from the 130C) and that user would go with the Pro HD anyway with the minimal weight difference?
Where did you see only a 70g weight diff for same size?

any input on the Line Vision?

ah, ok - i did not read the posts super carefully as 1200usd backpacks ain't my jazz, but I could have sworn to the pages mentioning AA-batteries. I must have mixed it with one of the other threads, my appologies.

    Is this the right backpack?

If yes, then the video includes a lot of info, even if you prob have to read the subtitles to understand most of it

Can't say for BD, but I talked with Scott rep and he told me E1 system will be fully detachable and Scott will be selling backpacks without system itself. Not a size booster, but still. So I guess BD backpacks will also share this feature

the AA batteries are used to charge the supercapacitor.

BD will have airbags powered by: Canisters, Traditional Battery - Fan, and Capacitors. Various sizes in each option. Each one for a different type of end user.

It’s very, very light with a sub 20m radius. I applaud the concept, but I can only imagine how easily this ski will get deflected and bounced all over the place on the way down due to the lack of mass.

The race to the lightest ski possible does have disadvantages.

The new Pollards, though...color me very intrigued.
You should have been here yesterday!

    Good review

Yes I'd like to know more about whether the modular system will also be in E1. The modular system looks a little short (the pack sticks far out) which doesn't lead to balanced carry.

The video above is also the battery, non-capicitor, pack. I actually hope the E1 packs are not modular. I dont really have any need for that, it seems like it just makes them heavier, bulkier etc. Just a 32-35, light as possible E1 pack...

Dunno if there's anything like it on the market or not...but...talkin' to my forest worker buddies like fallers, tree planters, tree spacers, block layout techs, etc. a few years back, I think there'd be some market opportunity for intuition liner based more technically designed, custom molded plastic shell option, waterproof caulk boots.
    Master of mediocrity.
