I went to the dealer today and looked at brand new Summit XP's. Fuckkkk. Compared to my '03 pre-rev Summit, those things are a whole new ballgame. Maybe next fall...

Ireallyliketoski - It's stupid for the following reasons:
1. Money. You will spend more money driving the sled up the resort for a season than you would on a pass. In case you haven't heard, sleds run on gas and expensive 2 cycle oil. And they burn both at an alarming rate. Which brings up to our next point:
2. Pollution and Resource Use. If Copper's gonna run the chair, least you can do is get on the fuckin thing. Taking a sled up a ski area is like running your car along the bus route at the same time as the bus, stopping at all of the stops with it, and having a bike on the roof, moped, roller skates and longboard in the trunk. Sleds give off some nasty emissions. If you are gonna run one, you should be mindful about it.
3. Safety. Do you really want to kill an 8 yr old girl in front of her parents on their annual ski vacation on your sled to avoid paying for a lift ticket? No, you don't, cuz you're a nice guy.
4. Image. This is very important. You're gonna look like a king-size douchebag running a sled up a ski area. Kind of like that guy who skins the area, only you are lazy to boot. At least he's working for it or could tell chicks he's training for Denali.
5. Copper Sucks. So much dick. It is the most crowded, lame, uptight feeling resort in the area - and it's right down the road from Vail, Breck, and keystone, so it's not like it has no competition for lameness, crowds, and uptight vibe - it's among the elite in all of these categories. The park might be off the hook, but it has one key drawback - it's at Copper. F that place in the A.
6. Really? Did you really think there wouldn't be rules against this?! Forest land or not, can their ski patrol not pull your pass and fine the shit out of you for poaching, skiing too fast, showing your dick to kids, etc.?
Conclusion: For the above reasons, your question was stupid. If you get a sled, use it to get places you can't go otherwise. If there's a perfectly good chair running, GET ON THE FUCKING THING! If you can only afford one out of a pass or a sled, get the pass. Still waaaay more bang for the buck as far as cost to fun ratio.
Really not trying to attack you. Just kick some fucking sense into your head. Have you bumped it recently?Chocolate? This is doodoo, BABY!

THAT WAS AWESOME.
And as someone who is banned from Copper for life,
That place sucks the cum out of a whales cock.
FUCK COPPER.

that's sweet. Don't forget the snowshoers.
What a miserable trick, putting some douchy snowshoes on and walking up a hill with no means to slide back down.

LMAO!
That was a great rant.
Isn't the whole point of having a sled (for skiing anyway) to get away from crowds to get some?

Just hit a rock, bent a few spocket teeth and now I have to remove the drive axle.

How in the hell does that happen?
Do you mean the drive on your track powered by the belt coming off your engines main crank?
Least you have a place to work on it.

UPDATE-
Bolted my sled deck to the bed yesterday. Took about 5 hours to do it right,
but now it's good to go, and it's nuking outside.

The sprocket is the big toothed round thing, I smashed a few teeth on that. it will most likely be at least a few hours of wrenching plus I have to press the new spocket onto the drive axle.
Total carnage this season= $53
Time on sled= 3 hours

Anyone in CO want a 2001 Ski Doo Summit 800 Highmark X with somewhere around 2500 miles on it for CHEAP?
In good shape except for the fact the engine was fried. Estimated shop repair of $2000. Pick it up in Breck. PM me for details.

Apparently Ak4life didn't the memo that you really really need a long track to get anywhere in powder.

Long tracks are like training wheels, makes it all too easy plus the suspensions and tunnels are poop. I have just been riding sleds for a loooooooong long time.
I still get stuck though......
Its all technique, bad light sucks on a shorty
More sled stoke from me and my bro's
