Yes, I'm very attracted to both. Or just the one if my theory holds up.

It's hard to tell, at the bowling alley you get a closeup of her as a redhead. When she shows up on Christmas Morning you only get a farther away view. I really feel for Jack and his options.

While you are wrong, this is the only allowable argument and the only other potential contender.

While normally I’d be down to debate it, in the spirit of the season perhaps there can be two belts.

True. These really are the two that can claim the top of the mountain for the classics.

White Christmas did give us this outstanding line though:

“ We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye.”

I watched the tail end of Die Hard falling asleep the other night. Now that is definitely a Christmas movie.

Top 5 list would be difficult, but here goes:

    5. It's a Wonderful Life

    4. White Christmas

    3. Home Alone

    2. Christmas Vacation

    1. A Christmas Story

    Also receiving votes:

A Charlie Brown Christmas (more of a special, but it's still great)
    Elf
Four Christmases (this one gets funnier with age for some reason)
    Die Hard
    Scrooged
A Very Murray Christmas (again, more of a special, but its good)
A Christmas Carol (either of the newer, very dark FX version; Muppet Christmas Carol; George C. Scott version; or The Man Who Invented Christmas are all good)
    Miracle on 34th Street
That’s fair. Good picks. There were some other good ones mentioned too like Bad Santa lol love that one. Scrooged for sure top ten maybe 5; top 5 for me anyway.

I just can’t get enough of seeing the Billy Ray Valentine WSJ likeness, the ‘wrong’ drunk Santa, and, “uh, no, that’s OK, I think I can hang out with you guys for a little while” ha! The glee club scene is pretty fucking classic too. Prolly could have done without the gorilla rape scene. Remember Al Franken is one of the porters? Lol.

How about Gremlins? Hehehe. Christmas? Yes. Good? Uhhhhhhh……

    Happy Holidays…

    YALL!

    I love Christmas time

A Christmas Story is tops for me as far as Christmas movies. Not big on old musicals and I saw It’s A Wonderful Life too many times as a kid.

Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas takes the cake if we’re talking specials.

Nightmare Before Christmas is further down the list, but it covers the two best holidays, which has to be worth something.

A Christmas Story is my all time favorite too. I’ve never seen It’s A Wonderful Life except the first like 15 minutes. I recently bargained it against Elf; context being an agreement with a Bud under which you watch “this” since you haven’t seen it, I’ll watch “that” since I haven’t seen it.

If you buy the movie (I have it on VHS!) there is more to the movie than they show on TV. I never knew until I bought the tape and watched it with family. We were all shocked to see scenes we'd never knew exsisted and we'd all watched it many times on network TV.

Agreed. The part when it all becomes OK when he gets the leg lamp is my favorite part of the director's cut.

Lights up outside, heaters on, wine flowing, tree in the house to decorate tomorrow, kind of starting to feel like Christmas. Hoping you filthy animals enjoy this month.

Finished decorating the tree last night. Getting ready to drink glühwein, eat lebkuchen and hang the stockings on the fp mantel in preparation for St. Nicklaus' arrival on the 6th.

Huh, my wife's birthday. Now we have one more reason to celebrate the 6th. Thanks for the heads up.
