Learned how to post pics, now how can I rotate them. I would post more this tech shit and I don’t get along.

We met Waco the bus driver dressed in leather pants and some fur hat and jacket.

1st heli ski for me in a solid 30 mph wind on the ridge.

Both of our guides were amazing and did not disappoint.

Silverton is a special place for sure.

I'm heading there in two weeks. Stoked and slightly gripped to be honest.

I rotated your pic in photo editor and re-uploaded. Maybe that'll work?

Man - don't sweat it. They have some nice terrain, but there ain't nothin' to be gripped about.

Unless you're skiing with Shocklee - then WATCH OUT.

Man, Silverton is on the wish list. Glad you had the chance, and got the goods. Only fitting that any post that includes you and a heli is immune from any Jong comments!

Try reducing the size of you image (i.e., if it's 3000 mb, change ut to 2000). This has worked for me when posting high resulution porn in Padded Room.

Agreed -- just pay attention to the traverses when the guide tells you to (like on Mandatory Air).

Otherwise, you're unlikely to ski anything more technically challenging than the The Face at Loveland.

    Its a pretty special place.

Never turn down a chance to ski Silverton. Sprite world is the best description, as for the terrain, they have it all cover steeps trees and high alpine. Not going to lie my mind is blown.

A Silverton trip is in no way the financial committment of an Alaskan heli trip. A ride in a heli for $59, is small potatoes.

The $240 pass is a steal, especially with A-Basin, Monarch and Powderhorn, but $140 for Silverton only + heli drop is a no brainer.

    Wait, what?
That narrow concrete tunnel is pretty technical though.

I'm sure with a rad crew you get to ski technical stuff. But if you just rock up and get put in with a group -- they aren't going to throw mandatory dicey moves at ya.

The Face ain't particularly steep. But its double fall line, shit coverage and bumps make it as technical as anything we skied over our two days.

I am not a fan but this seems like a good deal. Could not fine much about reservations on their site. Appears you need them. So do they have a limit each day on skiers? Can you just reserve everyday of the season?

I have limited days getting put in random groups (our party had 3 people), but I have experienced it both ways. Get paired with the rookie guide and the fresh off the plane Floridian, it's Cabin & Tiger Main time. Get paired with the rippers from Telluride, Flagstaff and an OG guide, and it's technical turns in Two Smokes & Nightmare. Both experiences were great, but one was far more memorable.

When peak offseason blues hit, I'll totally get into a "Silverton" vs "The Face" debate.

You just show up. Those are the unguided days. On those days it operates like any other ski area except that you need to carry B.C. gear. You can ski solo.

    Unguided Lift Ticket$84.00

While a reservation for unguided skiing is not required we always recommend it. The chair starts spinning at 9am and last chair is at 3pm. All guests, must check in at the tent before boarding the lift.

$84 includes full day lift ticket only
Reservations close 24 hours before the ski day.
See more on our Unguided Experience here
seems to me the are implying they limit ticket sales

Right, they do in theory but I highly doubt they’ve ever had to actually turn anyone away. Regardless, I think he was referring to the season pass

looks like 475 skiers on unguided days. 80 on guided days. My point is. This seems like a good deal. I imagine there are skiers in Montrose, ridgeway. ouray and Durango who would never think of buying a ticket. But for $100 if you get four days it is a descent deal. Also the expended days help as you might be able to avoid front range weekend warriors and better snow windows. I would imagine they do not sell out 475 that often but I don't really know.

    Don't get confused.

$99 is for 5 weeks of 5 days per week of skiing.

$99 Early Bird Base Pass Deal includes: Access to the mountain for the following projected 2021 Unguided dates Weds-Sun 5 DAYS a Week. (regular price $399):
Monday, March 15 (Passholder-Only Private Mountain Day)

    April 7-11

The Base Pass option does not include partner mountain days.

For another $136 you get a bunch of days at partner resorts and half price standby guided days.
    https://silvertonmountain.com/shop/2...season-passes/

is this the 1st time the 99$ option has been avail? guess i'm skiing silverton next year..
To my knowledge, yes, it's never been this inexpensive and they've never been open 5 days a week for more than 1 week.

Reservations are not required but they can impose a cut off at 475 skiers on a given day, so reservations are encouraged.
