I'm sure he's a humble, down-to-earth, nice guy IRL. It's undoubtedly all an act.

That model aircraft has been going down for years.

One of rock's enduring mysteries unfolded on March 19, 1982, as 25-year-old Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Randy Rhoads -- despite having a reported fear of flying -- perished in a fiery crash at Leesburg, Fla., after a joy ride in a Beechcraft Bonanza. When it was over, the dead included Rhoads, one of the era's most promising young guitarists, as well as Rachel Youngblood, a 58-year-old seamstress and cook for the Osbourne band, and Andrew Aycock, a 36-year-old bus driver with an expired pilot's license.

This is documented in a Padded Room thread but I thought I would post it here also for wider dissemination

Will nothing stop this douchebag? High speed police chase ending in rollover? Airplane crash? And who knows what else? Probably not. Douchebag are douchebags.

Hope that’s just a sick joke as I would slowly peel the skin from whoever put that up. Never could figure out who did it, figured it was this older asshole by where we rode dirt bikes. Fucker/someone strung a wire that was luckily/unluckily just over the height of the bars of our bikes on a trail that split. My buddy went left I went right, he was caught by the wire across the chest. Major injuries that could have easily killed him.
Not saying Lesh isn’t a douche, he keeps proving he is a giant one.

    Not funny.

Few years ago kid in nearby town did that. Killed somebody. Police never could prove responsibility. Family moved clear across the country to California to get away.

x3. If you need to put irresponsible shit on the internet maybe stick to vaguely threatening the executive(s) or promoting Prilosec. (Not a defense of douchebags.)

Oh bullshit. Anyone who would actually do something like that doesn't need me to tell them about it and you know damn well I'm not serious.

Used to happen from time to time when I was a kid in Michigan where some landowner would do it where people were riding snowmobiles on his private land. I don't think the crime justifies the punishment, obviously but jail seems about right.

My friend and I were xc skiing in a public park when a couple of guys on sleds spotted us, turned to come at us, thought it would be fun to beat up some tree huggers. When they got close enough to get a good look at my friend Karl--6'6 250# ex Marine Seal--they did a 180 and split. Lot of people don't like snowmobilers; that's one of the reasons why.

I can honestly say this is the first time I've heard "an inclination to beat up xc skiers" as a reason to dislike snowmobilers.

Does anyone know what kind of sentence this could be for Lesh? Are there mandatory minimums or will he write some checks and walk away unscathed?

"Faces 4 petty offenses filed by the Forest Service"

So probably pays a fine and walks. Again.
Maybe some community service thrown in.

Although I have no idea personally.

Or even a supposition of intent when nothing happened. Maybe one of the snowmobilers thought he recognized one of the skiers. Nah, probably was planning assault and just got scared. Because you know how those people are.

There was a pretty sad XC-skier/ snowmobiler ‘war’ in Teton Valley 20 years ago. Something about the ‘bilers poaching wilderness and buzzing the skiers, so the skiers slashed all of the ‘bilers tires at the trailhead.
Things got tense for a while.
SCS racing stickers were everywhere, it was dark times...

No way. Definitely attempted manslaughter. That's what those people do.

Unlike the the piano string between trees crowd who respect life.

Attempted manslaughter definitely justifies punishment. Unless you mean slow skin peeling--that might be a little much. A little.

Not a snowmobiler, but I knew some parents who lost a son to that bullshit. I guess somebody's sense of self righteousness was a little reduced. Hopefully. His parents had it a bit rougher.
