Question after realizing I haven't watched much of Marg's in the past: Do they include The Box more for novelty/exhibition/something different for the competitors/viewers...or put another way, would they ever hold Finals Day at The Box if the conditions were right?

I thought that Carissa was the best looking female this week, just too bad she didn't connect on the right waves. I find myself watching more and more of the women these days, definitely rad to watch on the right days and Stephanie's 10 at Keramas was well deserved. Although I'm not sure I believe in the equality prizes, except if the women are drawing in as much of an audience as the men then good for them. Did anybody see the exhibition heat at Pipeline where the girls were in the water with their caddy's, I felt it was absolutely insulting to them, and there was Kelly, seemingly throwing fuel on the fire (or being cheeky) by staying out and dropping into waves much much deeper.

Rob...do yourself a favour and watch some of JJ's heats from 2017 at Marg's. Insane.

Box is very fickle which is why it rarely runs there, because to get a full day is tough. Plus they could not run the ladies there ever. North Point is even more fickle.
The top ladies when they are on are a very good watch. Steph has the smoothest style of anyone. But the bottom ranks are generally pretty boring honestly in my mind. Cool that the WSL is doing the equality thing. Also understand the arguments against it such as less viewership, less of them so easier to finish higher etc. I.e. the last place men get way less then the last place women as far as prize money apparently.

Well Joel and Potts wouldn't shut up about 2017 during the finals

Ha, I didn't even notice the girls didn't surf The Box. As rad as it was watching Robinson at The Box, I would rather have the competition results come down to the performance surfing of the main wave, but again, watching both breaks was great.

The box is such a gonzo slab but its a specialty wave. I think it was cool but its either drop in under the lip pull in kickout wash rinse repeat or carnage. Kinda got boring /firstworldproblems. Maybe they should have held a single day specialty, like the redbull airshow at keramas, @box. Give the local hellmen that have been charging that wave forever a shot.

Did anyone catch the peak that was just lookers left of MR main break that had a L and a R that looked like it wrapped around the MR reef. It was firing! That whole coast has so many great waves! /bucketlist
