Yes, that is it exactly. The red line you see screaming underneath that dude is the K point or critical point where the transition starts to seriously flatten out. If too many dudes fly past it they scrub the round and lower the start.

That was approx. 730 feet in the air. I figure when he realized he was still 10-15 feet off as he flew the K his asshole puckered so hard it ate his nuts

Being from Norway where ski jumping has a long and proud history, I've seen my fair share of these competitions, in real life and on tv. Planica, where this clip is from, has a k-point of 215 meters, meaning this guy flew 25 meters past that

Points are given for length and style. There are 5 judges that give the style points, where 20 is the perfect jump (which also needs a certain length for the 20 to be given. The highest and lowest score is deleted. I think they deduct 10 points each for a fall and 3 points for a parallel landing. For max points you need to make a telemark landing. Apart from that it's all about even, steady skis, steady arms close to the body etc. This sport is not for possies, that's for sure. Just check out some of the crash videos on youtube.
You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.

This sends shivers down my spine, but I did have to watch it twice.
I can't believe you are a rando racer because I look so much better in Lycra than you.

People who don't think the Earth is flat haven't skied Vail.

The "medical" team is pretty scary--flipping the the guys over from stomach to back with no concern for the spine. Was this 1980's or 1880's?
